The Change-room.

What do you mean I can't write another chapter of The missing manhoods?

But that has nothing to do with missing...

Hey I paid good money for those pots PUT THEM DOWN!

Ok fine but you had better let me get to work on missing manhoods soon..

Wild Magic 40

The trip to Crawford was not a long one, perhaps 30 miles and they passed without incident. I could tell Debbie was really keyed up with worry. She knew there was a real potential for violence.

“I’m a little scared, Emily. I’ve never really been in a fight before. I wish I had brought something like a baseball bat or something,”

“Relax, Debbie. I don’t really expect a physical fight. I mean, we’d probably be heavily outnumbered, you know.”

Cider Without Roses 40

CHAPTER 40
The talk in that class began after that next Christmas had passed. It was nothing that was immediately noticed by myself, but when one looks back to an earlier time the vision may often be clearer than it was at that initial moment. It was later that I saw, later in my years that I could place a marker on my calendar and say, yes, that was the instant, that was the beginning.

Ithycca Sidestories- Chapter 7.5: Children of Heaven

(In order to make a more detailed and complete universe, I wanted to focus on the stories of the other major characters of Ithycca. This one will be in the point of view of the Angel from the previous chapter, taking place from her realm of Heaven. Enjoy!)

What's the point, anyway

I'm tired.

I'm alone.

And I really don't see the point in trying to make life work anymore.

There comes a point in a person's life when they have to realize that they are a failure beyond any hope of being anything but a failure. I have come to that point. I have tried to be a good person and help people out, my reward was to be robbed blind. I have tried to be a friend to people, but there is no one around to bulster me when I need it. Those who are sworn to protect and serve simply turned away when I needed help, but were quick to point the finger at the smallest infraction.

Cider Without Roses 39

CHAPTER 39
I walked into the school once more, that September, and it felt right, true. This was where I belonged, what the Lord had made me for. I was so like my mother, for she had found her own place in the world, her own purpose and joy in her kitchens, and I had my children.

That was how it felt, for while my brother and sister would have their own, I had mine to greet each day and send home tired in the afternoon. Pascale was awaiting me in the little place of calm and safety, with a coffee ready.

Extra Time 8

CHAPTER 8
“I beg your pardon?”

She wasn’t like that Sergeant, Kirst, Kirsty…I was having a little trouble keeping my thoughts straight. They had me on some pain-killer or other, and while it was seriously good shit, as my junkie friends might put it if I had any, I needed to keep my concentration to get this right.

“I said no statement. Do you know who exactly is behind this?”

Wild Magic 39

Debbie was worried. I guess that as angry as I was, I probably looked a little scary to her.

“Change of plans, Debbie. I’m through with the subtlety. They've finally pushed me too far.” I said, angrily.

I walked into the house and called out for Mom.

Emily? Where have you been, young lady? You should have been home hours ago! What happened?

They’ve crossed the line, Grandma. Debbie and I were attacked, and they took Tim!

What?! But why...

I don’t care why, Grandma. I’m extremely angry, and it’s all going to stop today!

Please, be careful! Jenny may not be in control, but she’s still there, and if you hurt her, you’ll be hurting your Mom!

I know, Grandma, and I’m going to deal with that first.

Blood, Dust, and Silver - Chapter 3

Tanson walked out of the Alchemist's with a swing in his, now wider, hips and a smile on his, now fuller, lips. He spent three bars worth of gold, but his body now felt right to him and that's worth more than all the gold in the Wastes.

Odyssey III Chapter 5

Chapter 5

The next morning, Krista got ready for school but supplied Jenny with fresh undies, a pair of pink jeans and a sweater. Jenny felt so calm and natural to be dressed as a girl... her true self. The lie her life had been was forever over... she’d either be the girl she truly was or be dead. There were no other options. Even her swollen tender purple face could not conceal her happiness. Plastic

Plastic

Danni Chambers reached for the small plastic object on the desk, and then pulled her hand away as if it had been burned.

She put her one hand on top of the other, trying to stop the trembles that started at the tips of her fingers and went all the way to her core.

It was just a piece of plastic, after all, an innocent object. In fact its presence here represented the best news of her life - she was finally whole, complete, and its purpose was to make sure that the newest opening in her body remained .... open.

One of the Girls - Chapter 3

One of the Girls Chapter 3

By Julie Dawn Cole

As we walked along the line shaking hands she was the last one and so was I apart from Kaz who was talking to their coach a few yards behind. I wasn’t too happy about shaking hands since she’d clattered me several times but at least I had the satisfaction that it cost them the game.

I couldn’t ignore her whatever she’d done and afterall this is England the home of sportsmanship and fair play. So much for that opinion!

Rachel looked across at me as I ran on to the field of play and my presence seemed to give her a boost. She called for a huddle and a pep talk as soon as play stopped for an injury to one of the opponents.
