Another old one. Some of you may have read it before because it's the first story I ever posted but it's been off-line for a long time.

Sorry I'm a bit late here, rampant insanity and life got in the way for awhile. This chapter was exceedingly hard for me to write, Maeve just didn't want to air this dirty laundry in my hearing. I had to bribe her with chocolate.

Chapter 41

*Before…

And I’m with Cass…and the baby and last night.

I step into the shower with her and I hug here again. “You’re amazing y’know.”

“I am?”

“Yeah with the chopper and everything it all could have flooded back on my after
everything calmed down but it didn’t. And that’s you…”

“Sam……”

I tilt her head up and I kiss her.

“Thank you for loving me Casey Chase.”

Mr. Lane drew an envelope from his pocket. "I have your birth certificate here.
I know you've never seen it, and there's a reason for that.
This document is yours, and I'm going to give it to you,
but we ought to have a look at it together first, because it needs a bit of explaining."

 
"Why would I do that?"

She scoffed. "Because you're a teenager! What do you think you'll be doing from now on?
Do you think you're still retired? Are you going to dig in the garden and play bingo and shuffleboard?"

"I never did those things!" I protested.

Mika groaned as the alarm blared in her ear. She slapped it and yawned, looking around the room. She was tucked in comfortably in a king sized bed like her old one, except that it was in the center of an unfamiliar room. It was much larger than her old room, or Crystal’s for that matter.

“Mmm... Morning sexy butt,” Crystal whispered as she leaned up to kiss Mika. “What’s wrong?” she asked. “Another bad dream?”

“Yeah,” Mika answered as she rubbed her head, half-lying. As sleep wore away to her waking reality the feeling of wrongness, of deja vu, quickly faded. It was as if this was always her bedroom that she shared with Crystal,in the house their mothers had bought years ago. “It’s gone now,” she said with a smile and kissed Crystal back.

*Before…

She looked at her dad and he waited until the cops had left and offered his hand to the bus driver who shook it and the sheriff who just looked at him and his hand and then headed towards his car. “I have to get this to evidence and do up a report, good evening all.”

He left with a nod and got in his truck and drove off and the bus driver left after that saying he had to do the same after getting the bus back to the garage.

Emily looked at her sister and her Dad and her throat hurt and her mouth was dry.

“I’m so sorry you guys, I’m sorry.”

Both of them hugged her and she started crying and they hug walked her up the drive way to the house.
