Years ago, I’d found a door on the blind wall on Elm street while in a traffic jam. There was no door really. It was only visible in the mirror. I could see and feel it, only while I was turned away from it. I tried the door and opened it into a world where I was a girl ten years younger than I was in my own world. I panicked then, and returned to my own world that same day.

I mind playing with my gran’s sewing pins. She was a seamstress and used expensive, thin, steel pins, not the cheaper more common, thicker, iron ones that were used by virtually all women in those days. I’d been playing with them with a magnet and some had become magnetised. She’d complained to my dad, ‘I don’t know what that bairn of yours has put on them, but I’ve even scrubbed them with Ajax powder and still they stick together.’

Chapter 2

Walking back to the dorm was like walking through a marshmallow…or swimming in a pool full of petroleum jelly. I had no energy and no spirit. I was totally drained. Arriving at my quad proved to be no relief. None at all...! I walked into the common room to find the roomies from the other bedroom, my roomie, and her fuck boy.

Vivienne spoke at length on the phone with her lawyer, Verity May later that day. After some discussion of the downsides to the plan to change their names, Verity agreed with what Jacques had outlined. Their previously planned meeting for Monday was still going to take place but at her offices. That way, anyone watching her offices will see nothing out of the ordinary other than a client visiting their lawyer. Verity called it ‘scheming in plain sight’.

Verity had promised to have all the documents that Vivienne had requested ready for their signatures apart from a few missing details that would be filled in on the day.

The Webster and Dorman families were brought together by the rescues first by a Dorman young man of a Webster young girl, then two years later a Webster young man of a Dorman young girl, and ensuing love which led to marriage when they each turned eighteen. Ok, this one is a bit... well, weird and nasty, to be honest. If you are of a delicate disposition, please move along. I've been ill with covid, but I'm a bit better now. Thanks again to Gabi for editing and proofreading, but don't blame her for everything else. It's a bit rushed for Halloween because of the illness. I'll try and tidy it as I go along. There are more chapters, but it's not finished yet. What can I say, deadlines and illness don't mix...

This is a tribute, a remembrance, a lament...to the best man I ever knew, the best human being, my secret love.

He was taken from us...from me, several years ago, but he still lives in my heart and my memories. He knew how I felt, but we could never let on to anyone else. He never did.

I really don't care how any of this is taken by anyone, but as emotional as I have been for the last few days, I HAD to get this out of me for my sanity's sake.

I felt a lot better about wearing diapers now that I knew I wasn't
alone in wearing them. I've known Jake for about 2 years as he was in
some of my classes but we won't play friend. Maybe now we could be
