The squeal for help dragged Sandra from her early morning torpor and she blinked stupidly as she stirred. She uncurled her legs, yawned then stretched stiffly from the uncomfortable chair in the night office. Next she tugged the hem of her nursing uniform and adjusted her panties that had ridden up into the cleft of her bum. After spending the night watch scrunched up in the uncomfortable night duty chair her back was sore and her legs stiff with cramp.

I’ve never been in Suspension before…I wake in pain, not pain, pain but this hurt, my lungs aren’t happy with the change in my breathing or the adjustment to room temperature. It’s a saying a parable of sorts from the old days. It used to be you’d be dead and gone and your great grand kids would be the ones arriving to where you used to be heading. Then came the great invention of FTL space flight. The basic theory of it requires the ship involved to have a man made micro-singularity as the engine core. It creates its own gravity and when you jump it’s using a particle beam to link it to another gravity well or a star and your ship is attracted to the larger field.

3000 years into the future, Humanity is once again fighting for it's very survival. There of course are those heroes who make sacrifices for the sake of others. Some have to sacrifice more than most people will ever know. Thanks to the Praetorians, our lives can continue...

Okay…it’s bee the most stressful week that I’ve had in a long time. The TG Witch knew me and she hasn’t really laid off of trying to find me. I think I might have wronged her in a past life or something.

I’m a Vampire, a real unlife blood dependent vampire so yes please trust me reincarnation is possible. Well for most people, I’ve got no idea really of what really happens when I eventually get ashed.

Boring! That is how I would describe the school days at Harriet Miller High School. I swear my teacher's had taken their teaching style from watching Ben Stein's character on "The Wonder Years" My girlfriend Liza and I would spend our time passing notes to each other and still managed to get every single thing our teacher said. It was like this in nearly every class. We both decided that we needed to liven things up, so we would pull out a Fart machine and start letting it go off at different times.

A couple of years after the twins were born, we were overjoyed to discover that I was pregnant again to Beverly and this time it was triplets-, two girls and a boy. My bio-prosthesis company was now doing excellent business and Beverly’s spaceship manufacturing business had expanded to Mars and Venus. Trade around the solar system had expanded logarithmically, and we thought all our problems were over.

In this chapter, Ruby is shocked and delighted to learn that Beverly has not commited suicide as she returns to earth with a delightful surprise for Ruby.
