We did as we were told. It was no big deal. Besides, most of us had begun to like the smell and taste of our lipstick. Some of us were also beginning to like the taste of our roommate’s lipstick as long as our roommate was wearing it. And some had simply begun to like the taste of their roommate. You could hear our compacts snap closed. We all went back to reading our copy of The Order of the Earrings; goals we had to meet.

“Adjourn to breakfast and meet back here in an hour. Take note that from this point forward any time you need to pee you MUST sit down. To not do so could put you on ward C. Day 16 - Breakfast

Synopsis: When Daniel gets offered a temporary job in the mail room, he little realises just where it will quickly lead him. Nor does he realise the consequences.

"Welcome back Mr Tomlinson. How's the leg and wrist?" asked my assistant Bree.

"Getting better Bree but I'm still a long way from running the marathon again," I replied.

I'd run the NYC Marathon the previous year and raised more than $10K for charity.

"It is just nice to see you back again."

My driver John wheeled me into my office. Not much had changed in the five weeks that I'd been out of action. The pile of current project files had grown considerably but not much else.

"Will there be anything else Mr Tomlinson?"

Can Elizabeth and Paul lure Amber's 'Daddy' out into the open? How are they feeling about being together last night?

My head was bowed against the chilly wind as I made my way down the busy sidewalk. Above me, buildings loomed like giant grey dominoes, their blank windows reflecting the gloomy winter sky. I maneuvered through the crowd surging alongside me. It was four o’clock on a Friday, and everyone was eager to make it back home and slough off their coats, hats, gloves and scarves. I, however, was not headed home. My destination lay a little further ahead, on the corner of the block. I approached with haste, drawing my scarf more tightly around my face as tiny flecks of snow began to fall.

A maternal young woman and her very special big-little girl, Leah, share a wonderful and restorative day together at home and the park, learning and exploring some interesting things along the way.

"Men, this is it, the Midway of our time," the crackly male voice spoke boldly through the speakers. "The Targ have sacked their last planet. No longer will we give them ground. No longer will we let them threaten our existence."

It was April 5th, 2365. Humanity faced a threat from the stars unlike any other, and for the astrosailors of the Fighting 3rd Fleet, this was the day that changed everything. The largest task force the deadly Targ had ever assembled was on its way to Gliese 667, and they were bringing their newest secret weapon.

For the obviously female Lt Commander Elisabeth Orpha, as well as the other women of the fleet, it meant putting aside disagreements over command's rampant misogyny. All that mattered was survival. For if the 3rd Fleet falls, Earth will fall with them.

Janet remains an odd piece of the puzzle Elizabeth can't figure out, but continues to go along with deceiving her. Have they found Amber's 'Daddy'? And what happened last night with Paul that made Elizabeth question everything she thought she knew and felt about them getting closer?

Elizabeth meets Amber and the question is - can she be turned around? And what about Paul? Are some disappointments insurmountable?

Amber's recovery operation is implemented and Elizabeth is along for the tense ride. A celebration dinner leads to getting to know one another and a potential for sparks, but how far will they go?

Author's note: Yes, I know I have several incomplete stories, but my muse sent me this one today, so I'm sharing it.

They say you always remember your first love, and I sure do.

We both lived in the same neighborhood, and became part of the group of kids who hung out together whenever the opportunity came up.

I guess we were lucky, in a way. We were part of the last generation of kids who were sent outside to play on their own, no adults hovering over us.

The only thing TG about this short story is the part of me who wrote it, back around 1998. My Inner Child is a weird little goober...

THE BIG TRIP UP is a book about a strange place called The Domain. And the story is sort of like that WHO KILLED ROGER RABBIT movie, because it is about characters who I don't think could ever be alive in a World that is REAL like this one, except these are puppets and not Toons, and also there aren't any regular human people in this book until the very end and then only one, and he is dead but then he is alive again...

This is a story about an ultimate fantasy of mine…..

After a long wait it had come to that day I was both dreading and so looking forward to. The kids and puppy had been dropped off the night before with my mum and we were all alone at home getting ready for the weekend.

Still sitting side by side on the sofa and casually stroking each other’s nylon clad legs Ronnie asked “What did you mean that you can ‘show me things and take me places that don’t involve travel’”? Angel replied “Let me fix your eyes first. We’ll talk about the rest a bit later”. Giving Ronnie an impassioned kiss on the lips Angel stood up, grabbed Ronnie’s hand and guided Ronnie to Angel’s bedroom. There were eyes to be done and some relief to be given. And just maybe there might be new places and things that Ronnie should see and experience.

The winds whipped and swept across the city’s block as a gorgeous, young girl stride her way through it, hair dancing and flying through the wind, and skirt fluttering with it.

It was mid-December and all the young girl had on was a blouse and skirt with shorts under her plaid skirt. Her socks came knee high with a very uniformed patterned.

Despite her lack of insulation, the girl was warm as the others with insulation. She took long strides with her shapely legs and proud demeanor.

The guy looked at the girl who sat next to him about a arm’s length away. She was wearing a slightly translucent white dress, that started to become even more see through due to the heavy rain in the plains. Under the dress, he could see that she was wearing purple lingerie, with a garter belt that held on to skin tone stockings, similar to the colour of her skin.

Ronnie stepped from the dressing room and back into the main convention room where the pageant was to take place. Drew remained in the dressing room.
