Chapter 1: No Retreat, No Surrender

Note 2: There may be a few bits and pieces lifted word-for-word from the canon material. I tried to do that as little as possible, though.

Chapter 3: Trouble Smith

*Before…

My people loved my father and mother and they loved my eldest brother Justin as well. I grew up thinking that we were good folks and had few real enemies and we did well for our folk in our lands.

And that was one of those things that I was going to inherit third son or not. I was going to do things, do whatever I could to help the people in Lyonnes.

And that’s gone; well it’s gone for as long as it’ll take me to find things out and to get strong enough to maybe do something.

But here’s Nicole who has actually done it here today and I know that she’s done more and that she’s already held in high esteem with Lady Tatiana and very much by her folk here.

I’m in that mixture of both awed and wistful and jealous of it all.

But I’m still very, very proud of her too.

Every Halloween is special for this youngster. This Halloween is just more special than all the others.

A reviewer that read "Water in the ear" over on fiction mania requested a continuation. And I thought: "Okay, why not?"

And here we are.

Marti returns home after she and Lanu have consolidated the details of the upcoming family reunion. Marti brings her mother in on what’s happening. Needless to say, Marissa overcome with emotion. The word goes out that there will be a family reunion. The recipients don’t know where. Randi is brought into the know.

Another very short story that spawned from the very predicament this story begins with.

You all know how it feels to have water in your ears right? The plugged feeling, the muted sounds. No matter what you do, it only seems to make it worse (and usually does), driving you crazy. When you're at the end of your rope, who would you turn to for relief?

The girls meet ‘Ricky’, whose actual name is Arnold, and his wife and children. Arnold is a bit of a mystery as he and his family are quite intellectually advanced; especially for raccoons. The girls take a rather long hike to fairly high altitudes and get some more lessons on ecology and geology. They also determine that a member of the group of boys who passed them is transgender. They just don’t know who it is.

Why is a red headed witch chasing an old man in a bath robe through the mall? Will the ninja commander finally get to read Make Out Paradise Seven? Who will own the Quickening, Duncan's Donuts and Coffee or The Clan MacCloud Healthy Living Emporium? Will that sexy jutsu EVER wear off? And what does all this have to do with an intergalactic invasion or the Men in Beige?

This story was just thrown together by me for the September contest without any real intention of anything serious. Please just enjoy (or not) the silliness.

Some of the girls go on a moderate nature walk. Edna learns a bit about alligator lizards. They make the short trek to Jenks Lake to go swimming. Marti, Lanu and Rhonda realize they have to do something about Lilly and Wanda.
