Having to reveal my thoughts on transition to Saint Nicholas made me a little uncomfortable. I wondered secretly whether he even had the power to fulfill my desire. “Sir, it seems that my feeling that my body was of the wrong sex was prevalent even in my preteens. I suppressed those feelings thinking the it was not natural and a passing fad. As I reached my teen years and found that I would be different from my mates, I found myself questioning my masculinity."

The early winter storm raged, slashing and tearing with icy blades at the weary Christmas decorations along the street vainly trying shine though the winterly onslaught. Ice glazed the poorly heated apartment windows erasing all signs of the holiday season as the storm howled.

She turned to me “Hun why don’t you tell her your story? I’m going to go see if I can find the doctor to check if we can take you home.” She looked back at Jen and said in her ‘serious’ tone staring right in her eyes “And you treat Caitlin nicely, she is the same person you have known for 24 years so I don’t want to hear any crap from you.”

Chapter Three

I wonder if this had been that girl’s weird way of staying with me forever, by twisting my wish? By making me look like her so that every time I look in the mirror I would see her for the rest of my life! And even my DNA had been changed looked like it had been added with some of hers as well. What the hell was I going to do, live like this as a girl for the rest of my life?

“I have been waiting for you” She answered cryptically “and I would like to listen to you play some music. Would you please?” She said with a smile. What is she, some kind of stalker? But then how would she know I would pass by this field or even stop because I saw the fire?

“What is was, was magic” story contest entry

“I remember Mom saying her sitter was wild but wow!” I said to myself. I settled in for the night in my aunt’s big, ornate bed and dreamed of her, these remarkable women friends/lovers of hers and what they did together, some of it in this very bed. There were the photos to prove it.
