Freya's Heir Chapter 11

DISCLAIMER: I am not a canon author.

Chapter 11

Eventually August rolled around and as it drew to a close the three of them packed up their new clothes for the trip to Whateley.

"Any last minute advice Sally?" Fred said as they headed towards the airport in the limo.

"Unless it's an emergency don't show any powers until you get to Whateley," Sally said. "And even then only on Green flag days."

"Try not to drool on any of the hot exemplar babes," Brita said. "Unless it's me of course."

Ghost Stories and Urban Legends of Benton: More Ghost Stories. (14)

The following story was told to me by my friend Lana Tiffany Edwards, Lana Edward's grandfather, Elijah Edwards was Benton's undertaker for decades before he passed away from old age. He was also an avid collector of ghost stories. And one of those stories he loved to tell all those who would listen was about a farmer who was expecting his first child, when his child was born he was overjoyed to find out that his exhausted wife had given birth two twin boys. But his joy quickly turned to horror and shame as he noticed that the twins were conjoined.

It had been a hard night. Eddie had stayed up most of the night, unable to sleep. He’d tossed and turned, and when he finally did fall asleep, he had dreams where he ended up fighting with everyone.

He hurried downstairs, poured a bowl of sugar-encrusted flaked corn, filled it 3/4 full of milk, grabbed a spoon, slopped half of the milk on the floor, brushed a towel off the counter, took a bite of the cereal, pushed the towel over the spilled milk with his foot, took another bite of the cereal, kicked the towel in front of the washing machine sitting in the corner, dropped the still full bowl into the sink, and hurried out the door.

Eddie!” his mom called as the door slammed shut. She hurried to the door and opened it, knowing the teenager wouldn't respond, but she tried anyway. True to form, he continued running toward the highway.

Laura, part 27

“Ugh, this SUCKS,” Suri overdramatically moans as she types away at her computer. “If I have to fill out one more UCAS form I think my wrists are going to seize up!”

“Could be worse,” I muse. “Imagine having to handwrite all of this…”

“I’d rather not, thanks,” Suri snorts. “Still got half a textbook to read for the next exam. Who knew acting involved so much, well, homework?”

Being Born The Wrong Gender and Poor

Dixie holds her little sister and looks at the freshly dug grave their mother laid in. She was lucky that her parents had burial insurance and plots near each other. All she had to do was sign all the paperwork involved in burying her mother. She had buried her mother in her favorite dress.

“THIS IS WHAT THEY HAVE DONE TO ME!” I could feel the stress in the text message. “LOOK AT MY CHEST! THIS IS ALL MY HAIR!” All caps.

Of course, I was shocked. We have been pals since kindergarten. I could see that it was him. I could see by the pout how sad he was. But that pout … with the lipstick on it just looked so good.

Dating a Cheerleader

I had always been fascinated by cheerleading, or was it cheerleaders? They were just so cute in their uniforms. So happy and positive. The way they moved. Yes, I really liked cheerleaders. I dreamt about dating one. And then there was the choreography. Yeah, sounds strange for a newly minted high school freshman boy but I had a thing for choreography. I just couldn’t stop watching dance videos. Lately I had started to wonder how to improve the stuff I watched.

Anyway, my fascination with cheerleaders was the reason I was watching the tryouts. I wasn’t the only boy watching. The stands were not exactly crowded but there were a fair number of both girls and boys, mostly boys though, watching the tryouts. Some of the girls down there were good, some not so good. Watching a particularly bad example I just couldn’t keep my mouth shut. That’s a character fault of mine. Speaking before thinking. You know, open mouth, insert foot.

Ghost Stories and Urban Legends of Benton: More Ghost Stories. (13)

As a paranormal researcher, I sometimes stumble upon a story that just moves me in ways that I did not expect to be moved. This story is one that hit very close to home for personal reasons I'm really not going to go into detail about here. The following story has all the hallmarks of a classic ghost story, the main character dies a horrible death, in fact he is murdered outright by a gang of thugs, on Halloween night of all nights, and his vengeful spirit returns to the claim the life of his attackers.

Shrink me no Shrinks.

Phyllis was cynical, perhaps with good reason, and considered the delegates and deliverers of the course to be a typical, left wing bunch with a disproportionate number of non whites, non binaries and generally professed anti establishment pedants, despite most being paid good, upper middle class salaries by the establishment which they were in truth pillars of. ‘Ah well,’ she’d thought, ‘It’s good to know that hypocrisy is still alive and kicking at all levels.’

The Adventures of Jamie Potter: Jamie Play's Dotty

A deep blush colored my face as I peered into the floor length mirror. The reflection showed a girl with blonde hair, baby blue eyes, and a petite frame. The girl was also dressed in one of the most embarrassing costumes I've ever laid eyes on. The costume was a short white dress with black spots. The accessories included a purple dog collar with a golden nameplate that read 'Jamie' engraved on it. And last but not least a pair of black dog ears. A small sigh escaped my lips as I spun around. This has to be the dumbest thing I've ever volunteered to do.

Audrey Hepburn and I

New school year, new school!

To be honest it was quite daunting to come to the huge High School from our smallish Middle School. Fortunately there were two of us. Me and my fraternal twin sister. Why do people talk about “fraternal twin” when it’s about a girl? Anyway, there we were. Cary and Katherine against the world. Well, not really. Even if the big school scared us, which we’d NEVER admit to anyone else, we didn’t really have anything to fear. We usually found it easy to find new friends or at least gET along with people. We had very good grades without being pegged as nerds since we were good at sports as well. Both Sis and I had selected courses geared towards science and technology with future engineering degrees in mind.

As expected, there was a huge crowd milling around. Sis and I got lost at first and then we ran into an Audrey Hepburn look-alike. She really owned the style. Short hairstyle, black turtleneck, slim black trousers, and ballet flats. Body language was similar as well as far as I could see. Sis could hardly keep herself from laughing. As it happens, I’m a great fan of Audrey Hepburn. As it turned out “Audrey” both was heading to the same homeroom as Sis and I AND she’d been smart enough to print out a map before coming. We happily followed her lead. In my case very happily as I walked behind her and Sis.

Chapter 5: Not Mermaids

When Jon was offered a possible cure for Cancer he didn't expect to wake up as a girl, let alone a mermaid.

“Not mermaid!” Kieshala hissed audibly, baring her fangs in anger before seeming to realize what she was doing and making an effort to calm herself.

Suhara of Curses: Fanfiction Epilogue - Chapter 49

This took two months for me to finish. Imagine being me constantly saying she’s worried about copyright and then going out and doing this. If anyone objects to me posting this please say so in the reviews. Either way, this is my fanfiction Epilogue for “Suhara of Curses”. I hope you will find my interpretation of the ending to this story entertaining but it’s fine if you don’t. I have no idea what Ruexin’s original intentions would be.

UPDATE AUGUST 2024: I split the epilogue into 5 chapters, added 2 new scenes, and switched the placement of two scenes. I also want to mention that most of this epilogue was written when I was a new and inexperienced writer, and that I acknowledge it has a lot of problems, mainly relating to tone. It's too bright and happy compared to the dark ending of the story. But, as of now, with these two new scenes I am satisfied with how the story turned out. And no, nothing from the original version has been cut.

Ghost Stories and Urban Legends of Benton (11)

In the foyer of Albert Sidney Johnston's Memorial Library there hangs an old oil portrait of a woman who is dressed in a black dress with a high lacy white collar. Her raven hair is gathered at the back of her head and is tied back in a nice, neat bun. Her face is set in what seems permanent scowl and her high cheekbones seemed sunk in. At the bottom of the painting one would find the name of the woman. “Mercy Anna Howard '' Followed by “Head Librarian” and beside that “1870 till 1920”.
