For all the BC girls.

Well, today is the 9th of May and Sunday at that. More importantly today is Mothers day.
I don't know who celebrates this and who doesn't and I don't want to offend anyone.
There's a lot of really great gals out here who deserve the mothers day love and respect even if they were once counted amongst the guys. There's a lot of you girls who in my opinion are great Moms, Mums, and both to be if fate is kind. Some of you are even that to others here.
Much Respect.
This one's for you sweet ladies.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!

*Hugs*

limbo: a look at married same-sex couples in states that don't recognize

limbo: a look at married same-sex couples in states that don't recognize such unions
05-09-2010 09:15 AM PDT |By DAVID CRARY, AP National Writer

When government forms inquire of her marital status, Isabelle Barker sometimes resorts to an asterisk and an explanatory note.

She and her wife, Cara Palladino, got married five years ago in Massachusetts. Six months later, for job reasons, they moved to Pennsylvania _ one of the majority of states that do not recognize same-sex marriages.

Hence the asterisk.

A thought about the in Memoriam links - Your thoughts?

On the main page of this site there exists a link box called "In Memoriam" If I understand this correctly the names listed there are departed friends who used to write for this site. Clicking on those links takes you to the authors page. I think it would be a fitting tribute to our departed friends if those links would go to a page describing the person's life, thier accomplishments, maybe saying something about thier hopes and dreams. The tribute page could then link to thier story page.

Country Music Singer Chely Wright Comes Out

I found this story particularly interesting because I was literally JUST thinking last night about how I enjoy country music and bluegrass, but never really got into it because of the generally ultra-conservative attitude of its fanbase.

NARTH ex-gay group board member takes rent boy to Europe

Christian right leader George Rekers takes vacation with "rent boy"

http://www.miaminewtimes.com/2010-05-06/news/christian-right...

By Penn Bullock and Brandon K. Thorp Thursday, May 6 2010

The pictures on the Rentboy.com profile show a shirtless young man with delicate features, guileless eyes, and sun-kissed, hairless skin. The profile touts his "smooth, sweet, tight ass" and "perfectly built 8 inch cock (uncut)" and explains he is "sensual," "wild," and "up for anything" – as long you ask first. And as long as you pay.

What if?

What if some time in the future they can tell if a fetus is TG (or gay or whatever). The parents have the option to "fix" him so his brain develops in such a way that it matches the body he's born in -- essentially someone with a male body would have a brain happy to be in such a body, and vice versa.

Odd mood good day...

I just had to get out of my house today. I was bored so I grabbed my palm top and headed out. The Mount Allison kids are leaving the final exams are done. There these piles of junk out at the end of driveways and by dumpsters as the kids waste so much by just throwing it away. It makes me sort of sad to see the waste, this stuff so easily be donated. Sigh the university is a rich one, and so are many of the students.
I checked out a few things at the local used bookstore, bought a loaf of Patagonian corn bread from the Indie bakery...It smelled too good and it just came out of their hearth.

Just an update for the day.

Hello everyone, today's been a decent day compared to my horrible drama-wh... likeness of yesterday. It's my day off and after sleeping in then a cup of tea I had to do my weekly ritual of heavy housework. I wanted to cook something today but being out of yet another failed relationship there are times I just don't feel like eating alone.
As I get older the more I dislike the lonely thing.
But it was raining and a little chill out so after coming back from the laundromat I put some soup into the slow cooker. I made my strange version of minestrone.

Recipe as follows:
1 onion diced.

Stuff I need to talk about.

I'm starting this because I'm a bit upset over all things an online journal. It wasn't even mine. No there was this public post that led to this really well written opinion about how she perceived men. I actually felt under attack by it. Not in a crushed male ego kind of thing but...I really try to be a good guy, I like old fashioned manners the whole nine yards. I'm not however an old fashioned trog. I love women, most of my close friends are women, I'm a firm supporter of all of a womens rights including in my opinion that being treated like a lady is a right.

Anyone lost a Wallaby, in Doreset, England

Just read a story on the BBC website, about a lost Wallaby, in Dorset, England.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/dorset/8636299.stm

That is a long way from their natural home, though actually there are some to be found out in the wilds of Derbyshire.

Wonder if Cathy, Angharad and Bonzai will make any claim of ownership.

Did i imagine it?

When I logged in earlier today I'm sure I saw a new story by Nancy Cole. Like the favourite morsels on my dinner plate I elected to save it for later while I took care of other internet 'duties'. Now it's gone! What a disappointment.

I hope it's merely to receive a little more polish before releasing it to the hordes ... or am I really going illusional?

"Reflection" - These lyrics really hit home

Normally I don't do this, but I felt so moved that I just had to pass this along. I don't know how familiar you all are with the hit Disney movie, "Mulan", but it's been one of my favorites ever since it first released.

It's based on the legend of Hua Mulan, and tells the story of a girl who cross-dresses as a man to join the Imperial Chinese army to keep her father safe. Prior to this incident in the animation adaptation, she has a disastrous run-in with "The Matchmaker".

Writers Block - Get A Round Tuit

a sufficient quantity

Guard it with your

been hard to come
by, especially the
round ones.
This is an
indispensible item. It
will help you to

For years you have
been saying, "I'll do
that as soon as I get a

Now that you have a

things that have been
needing to be
accomplished will
surely get done!

How annoying would this be? (Next story idea)

Because I find myself absolutely incapable of not rambling, I've included a short version, and a long version ;-)

Short version:
Would it be terribly jarring as a follow-up piece, to have the perspective of a story "jump" from one character to another, say, per chapter?

One way to get published.

For all the writers on this site who want to get their books published and sold to the public, take heart.
The article in today’s Sunday Times shows one mans unorthodox approach to selling his books.

As Rupert Murdoch will shortly be charging for this news site, please read it for free whilst you can.

I know I said I wasn't going to, but... I'm sorry. I need to vent again

I want to just curl up and cry right now. I'm sorry. I know I said I wasn't going to post another blog so soon, but I need this. God, I need this.

Coming back to the top here to say, I changed the rating because of language. I don't regret what I said. I needed to say it. Just a fair warning in advance because Zoe's PMSing in overdrive.

Taking the first step

Last night after I posted my previous entry, I curled up in bed and watched Top Gun. It helped a little, but there was this nagging feeling that I just was not doing enough.

I honestly cannot remember right now if I mentioned this in my blog, in a response, or in a PM, so in case it's the latter I'm going to go ahead and explain it here before I get to the weird dream I had last night when I did finally sleep ;-)

Apologies

I wish to offer my sincerest apologies to all of the authors here on BC. I have been a member here for almost 40 weeks, and have been a visitor for several years. Up until now I have been a “lurker”, reading stories and not voting or commenting on any stories that I like or dislike. I have read the blogs, and generally scan the comments at the end of stories, without adding anything of my own. (Though I have started to vote for stories that I like). I truly enjoy this site and most of the stories that are posted here, I like the community feeling and mutual support that is offered.

Weird Dreams or What ??

Hi all, thought that I would share two dreams I had within days of each other. The first was looking down on a hospital room with two patients, one was screaming following S.R.S. and the other was spitting angry; both patients had the same name and the wrong patient had the surgery. The second dream I had was where I ordered a feteshists dream concoction of a full body rubber bodysuit and was about to try it on, only then did I dissapear from the dreamscape leaving the bodysuit to crumple to the floor.

I appreciate this is ‘off topic’ as it were, but I was most surprised to read this article from AA Gill in today’s Sunday times, regarding his dyslexia. He is a perceptive writer whose work I have enjoyed for many a year.
Perhaps some of you here suffer from dyslexia or know someone who does, so please take a few minutes to read what it says, many of us can empathise with the youngsters he meets as well as his own experience.

Lesbian sgt. discharged after police tell military

Lesbian Sergeant Discharged

By TIMBERLY ROSS, Associated Press Writer Timberly Ross, Associated Press Writer — 29 mins ago

Jene Newsome played by the rules as an Air Force sergeant: She never told anyone in the military she was a lesbian. The 28-year-old's honorable discharge under the "don't ask, don't tell" policy came only after police officers in Rapid City, S.D., saw an Iowa marriage certificate in her home and told the nearby Ellsworth Air Force Base.

Where's all the good cartoons?

If you value your intelligence please ignore this drivel. Today marks one week without smoking (yeah me). And I need something to complain about.

I’m sitting here playing on the computer while my son is watching cartoons. Some weird one that is just annoying to overhear as is it to watch. So I took the remote and tried to find one I could tolerate listening
to. And what do I find? No Saturday Morning cartoons. What happened to the good ole toons I used to watch growing up. You know the ones that were on all the local stations for hours every Saturday before the games.

Shopping at Lane Bryant - love it

My wife and I were at Lane Bryant last night buying her bras. Mind you I was wearing my bra, my wife loves me wearing a bra, by the way. I am so lucky. So, while she was shopping and I loving all the pretty bras. The clerk was helping another couple, close to us. The clerk said to this couple, "This would not be the first time I have measured a man for a bra". My wife and I quickly looked over to this couple and the clerk. No, she was not measuring him, but he could have had a bra on, he looked like he had a figure.
