2020-04-24 ANZAC 2020

It's a bit controversional because of some comites / groups that are just a bit on the nationalist / right wing / phobic side but tomorrow, April 25th, is ANZAC day.2020.

It's a day I try to keep in mind each year.

The war from 14-18 also known as World War 1 or the War to end all wars wasn't just a 'thing' for Europe. Gallipoli is one of the most infamous especially in the ANZAC coutries. But soldiers of all over the commonwealth, the colonies served in 'Flanders' fields. Almost every skin collor know to man served 'next' to each other down in those trenches.

Essential employee

Author:

Oregon's governor has issued an executive order Oregon schools are to be closed until September and that schools implement "distance learning" so that the students in Oregon don't lose a year of schooling. As a result, school bus drivers have become "essential employees". We are to deliver school work assignments and lunches.

Trying to remember the name of a story........

I’m trying to find a story based in the Whateley Universe in which a teenage boy is exposed to nannites while on a school field trip to a top secret lab, and then while playing an RPG on his computer he runs into Fay’s alter ego and is killed while trying to save her in the game. The nannites are somehow activated, mutating him into his role playing character, a female elf, who also happens to have an affinity for electronic devices, as well as retaining her stealth abilities from the RPG, and some pretty well enhanced combat abilities from the nannites as well.

HD coming with shingling

Author:

The majority won't understand what this is about. Some will. This is for those few. WD and a few other HD mfg are adding shingling to some of their drives. It's raising havoc with the RAID build. This drive will work as a stand alone in a personal computer. It won't work in a mirrored array. I doubt it could even be cloned and used that way as it does not work well or get along with normal drives. If none of this makes sense, ignore it, you aren't one of those who will be running into problems with these HDs. What ticks me off is the companies weren't informing the buyers.

Book recommendations (newIsh stories)

Author:

I love so many stories on this site, but I tend to concentrate on the older stories because they are complete.

In a recent blog someone mentioned how many good new stories there were... So I'm asking for some recommendations from the newer stories (which probably encompasses anything in the past few years) .

I prefer longer or complete stories. If it's incomplete, hopefully it has a regularish update.

I read pretty much anything, but I'd prefer no forced sissification or humiliation.

Thanks in advance!

Help Finding

Maryanne Peters' "LumberJackie" story reminded me of another story that I am pretty sure is somewhere on the Top Shelf here at Big Closet

Most importantly I can't remember if this actually happened in the story or was a story used within the story
(you know the type 'Take Care of your tools & they'll take care of you', and just because it worked last time it was used doesn't mean you don't carry out safety checks before use)

Person goes out for cut wood for the houses fires for winter and the chainsaws chain breaks and injures the person.

Malwarebytes blocked Big Closet Top Shelf

This afternoon (actually just a few minutes ago), when I tried to get to Big Closet Top Shelf, my Malwarebytes gave the following warning and blocked the site:

Website blocked due to reputation

Website blocked: bigclosetr.us
Malwarebytes Browser Guard blocked this website because it may contain malware activity.
We strongly recommend you do not continue.

In spite of this warning, I have connected daily for about a decade without problems (except occasionally having to reenter my password), so I told Malwarebytes not to block it in the future.

looking for a story

I saw a reference to a story on another site but it didn't give the author or the title, it just made reference to something that was "just like that story".

The reference was to a boy who had gynecomastia and was required to wear a girls swimsuit for a swim class at school. He was then invited to a party by one of the girls that turn out to be a swim party, which she hadn't told him. She loaned him a swimsuit which he wore at the party with the other girls. Then was invited to a sleep over after the party.

Positive test......

Blog About:

Author:

So my wife was tested yesterday, and the results came back this afternoon - she tested positive for Covid-19. That makes my two sons and I ”Presumptive Positive” as well. No big shock there as both of my sons and my wife all had the same symptoms - low grade fever, muscle and joint aches, severe headache, abdominal pains and diarrhea, as well as loss of sense of smell and taste.

Covid 19. Don't screw around with this

Covid 19.

Do >Not< Screw Around With This One.

I have a fire-fighter friend on ambulance duty. He's had people die on him while in transport to hospital, or while he is doing CPR on them.

I asked his Wife to give him all the he support he needs.

USA deaths for those infected running at 1+ %
World deaths for those infected running at 4+ %

I think I'm just gonna have a drink, go to bed, and if I'm lucky, cry ...

I’ve got quarantine fever......

Blog About:

Author:

Well, luckily, I don’t really have a fever - just a case of cabin fever, so to speak.

So both of my sons have been through a two or three day cycle of low grade fever - around 100.3F for both of them. But both are back to normal now, and feeling better. The youngest, who started first is doing really well. His brother, my oldest, is about two days behind him and says he is still feeling a little run down.

Free books (not TG)

Author:

An author I follow elsewhere is offering some of his books for free. His books are usually based around the main char having some sort of super power either in this world or an alternate universe. The author is PS Power. You can find details of his books on Amazon.

To go on a list to get the books:
email me at [email protected] and I will manually add you to the list. That will get you a copy of new books, short stories, pen name books as they come out, and any back list book that I fix with a new edit.

My son has a fever......

Blog About:

Author:

So, my 25 year old son - our youngest - starting running a fever of 100.3 last night. It’s just a low grade fever, plus he is achey and tired, but he definitely is sick. Now it could be Covid-19, or it could be the flu, or something else. We had to call it in to Public Health, but all we can do is feed him Tylenol (Paracetamol for those of you across the pond), force fluids, feed him, and keep him warm.

Quarantined

Blog About:

Author:

Last Friday, a woman who works in the same building as my spouse decided to go into work with a fever of 103F. She stopped into my spouse’s office for a few minutes to use the postage meter, before returning to her desk in another part of the building. She was later sent home, and then tested by Public Health for Covid-19.

We found out about her being tested a few days ago.

T-girl children's bikini

I was surprised to hear an item on my local (Toronto, Canada) morning radio program about a father who is starting up a small company to make bikini bottoms for young T-girls, so that his daughter can go to the beach. If this first product is successful, other products will be added in the future.

If you are interested, check out the links below.

WHY ARE YOU WRITING?

Author:

I'm not sure how many authors were writing to BCTS twenty years ago (yr 2000). Can't even guess how many are here now. What I can observe is there are a whole passel of new authors posting stories. That said, let me say this one more time as I have explained many times before. If you are writing strictly for the knudos and comments, I wish you lots of luck. You are more than likely going to be disappointed. Trying to drive this home to you authors is like giving advice on how to drive to someone who has been driving for years. It doesn't register.
