Chapter 1

That is, until an injury takes her out for the entire summer, rendering her unable to pose or post. Fortunately for her, Anderson is fresh out of nursing school and fully equipped to be her caretaker. But as for her blossoming beauty business? She still needs someone to carry on the work. Maybe Anderson can lend her a hand — as long as he’s okay with just a few feminine changes…

I ran back into the living room, paced around, ran back to the bathroom, stared at the mirror, closed my eyes and then opened them. Damn, she was still looking at me.
“Mom and Dad will be home any minute. Maybe at the same time. I can try to explain this to them at the same time.” I darted back to the living room and peeked through the blinds. “How am I going to explain this? I don’t even understand it myself.”

Gaining a better look & More exposure

Alex snaps back at Carrie when she suggests that he let his hair grow longer and that he should go to her hair dresser to manage it while it does.

“You really need to let your hair grow out some more, but in the meantime, I think we should get it styled. You know different parts of your hair grow at different rates and for it to look right as it grows out, someone who knows about such things should take care of it. Just a little trim about every two weeks, to keep things growing even.”

“What!? Are you suggesting we tell someone else about our experiment? …Or did you already talk to your hairdresser?”

“No, but I was thinking I could tell her that you wanted to recapture your youth and grow your hair out, but that I put my foot down on you looking scraggly like some kind of 70’s hippy. Then I could ask her if she’d oversee your journey into the past.”

“I just don’t want to deal with another of your cronies knowing that I’m letting you feminize me.”

“Oh Alex, I’m not feminizing you. I’m guiding you as you discover your feminine side. You know all men have a feminine side, just as all women have a masculine side.”

“Yeah, yeah, we went through that before. Call it what you will, but all I know is I’m discovering a lot more of my feminine side than I could have even imagined was there.”

Alex gets the special order bras and loves the experience of wearing them and even enhances the look.

He also goes to the salon to have his hair styled and finds Janet, the hair tech, to be a really professional and friendly woman that is going to be capable managing his quest for longer hair. He comes away feeling assured that this time Carrie hasn’t betrayed his trust.

A group of friends streams their gaming on Wednesday nights. But not all the action is on the dining room table.

It’s the summer before college, and Madison’s task is to clean out his late Grandma’s entire house before it’s sold. Even worse, he has to do it with his annoying, bratty cousin, Olivia. But while digging through boxes, they discover something unexpected: beautiful, vintage dresses of a wide variety of styles… and Grandma’s unfulfilled dream for someone to wear them. What starts as silly bonding activity for Madison and Olivia turns into much more when they realize how convincing Madison looks as a girl, leading them to take advantage of his feminine looks.

Dad and I went for a short walk around the halls near his room with the nurse’s aide. He was tired out after going one lap around the nurses’ station. After we got back to the room and the nurse hooked his heart monitor leads back up to the larger machine, he told me, “I’d like to talk more about the transgender thing, if you don’t mind.”

“Last time Brenda and I played backgammon,” Grandpa said, “we talked about venning into little bitty bodies, maybe two or three inches tall, and seeing how the board would look from that angle. Big enough to roll the dice and move the pieces, but small enough that it would be as good a workout as an hour at the gym.”

“So Joe was upset, and wanted my advice about what to do. I didn’t know any more about LGBT people than he did, at the time, and I didn’t give him the same advice I would now, but I hope I did sort of okay given what I knew then.

“But I can’t wear that! My father would be scandalized.” I heard a snigger from behind me and shot Selene, our ‘other’ make-up person, a sneer.

“Oh, good. This feels weird. Not as bad as I feared, though. I know you said I wouldn’t feel paralyzed or claustrophobic, but hearing it is one thing and experiencing it is another. It just feels... sort of normal to not have any arms or legs?”

I’d originally been going to title it “Venn-Splitting for Long-Distance Relationships,” but Sophia had come up with a snappier title, “Splitting for Togetherness.”

One day in mid-December, a few days after Meredith came home from UNC Chapel Hill for Christmas, I was taking a break at work and hanging out with Genevieve and Terri for a few minutes. Genevieve was a kind of beetle-bee hybrid, with a bee’s striped fuzzy underbelly and a beetle’s elytra over her wings, and a slightly human-ish face. Terri was a big mushroom with a face and arms and four small feet, apparently based on a fantasy creature from a story she liked, “though the ones in the book are a lot smaller,” she said. I was in one of my more outre dragon-like bodies, slender with silver scales and four smaller wings more like a butterfly or moth than a bat.
