This is a continuation of Bedtime Story Several people asked for more, but that's not why this was written. The little bit there got me thinking. And, I figured I might try putting together a more complete story, that explains how that story came to be. This is the beginning of that effort. Some parts will be light and happy, but I fear some will be darker. I hope you enjoy.

I Woke, Part 7

I shouted. My shout woke me up, and I remembered where I was. I was in the body of a girl named Allison Allen, and I had no idea how to get back to my own life. Worse, I seemed to be remembering more and more of Allison’s life every day.

Mum and dad return and although they managed to get a hire car while ours was being fixed, it wasn’t exactly what one could call practical. In fact, it only had room for five of us–something they weren’t particularly impressed about.

There was something else they weren’t overly impressed about too…

I rode. I was in my “mother’s” car, going to the home of Allison Allen. Only problem with that was I had woken up as Allison two days ago, and before that I was a 40 year old man named Mark Collins. I had stopped to help a girl, who turned out to be Allison, when I had been hit by a truck, which I had learned was being driven by Allison’s attacker.

I walked. I was still in the hospital, trying to regain my strength, and demonstrate that I was well enough to go home. Unfortunately, it wasn’t going to be to my own home, because against all reason, I was somehow stuck in the body of a teenage girl.

With his friends placed into the sleep of the ages, by Fintan Mac Gabhann, a minion of the mischievous Goban Saor, Gwri is forced to serve them in their plot to strike back at Brarn the Reaver. Set before him was six tasks to gather six items. This is the tale of the last of those tasks.

I watched my “parents” leave. It wasn’t bad enough that I seemed to be stuck in the body of a teenage girl. Now I seemed to be remembering her life, channelling her feelings.

I waited. I was about to go into a MRI machine, and its soft hum calmed me enough to help me gather at least some of my wits. I had been feeling fragile and emotional for a while, making it hard to think, but I was able to use a grounding technique I had learned last year.

 
This is a new occasional series that takes its basis and some of its storyline from the cancelled Tokyopop Manga, Yubisaki Milk Tea by Tomochika Miyano. It’s a great series and well worth looking out, it’s a mystery why they cancelled it. For my version I’ve changed the setting from Japan to England and of course the names, then I’ve added some new characters and situations to produce Jamie and the Peach. The original series was cancelled before completion but I intend to take my version somewhat further!
