The next day was Monday, that meant a few thing. One it meant that my sister had a fresh list of chores that needed to be done by the end of the week. Beside each chore there stood a little dollar sign followed by a number. It also meant I was one more day closer to starting school. Soon those endless days of exploring would come to a end, and once more I’ll find myself chained to a desk.

The ending part of the ongoing story that started almost three years ago. There were some inquires for that first story, The Waltz, to be continued. I was stuck somwhere in the middle and couldn't find an acceptable continuation untill now.

The nave of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church was half full I’ll say with around sixty people sitting spread out in the wooden pews. Small puffs of gray smoke hung above our heads and the air was scented with the smell of burning charcoal and incense pellets. The flicking orange and yellow light of the twelve burning candles divided into two groups of six. Six to the left and six to the right of the high altar.

It was already a hour into my shift. When I was informed by Lily that somebody else wanted a go. A friend of hers, a girl by the name of Robin. That being said my shift had been cut from three hours down to just two. Which in all honesty was fine with me. It was pushing ten and the smell of fresh fried chicken from the deli across the street was making me hungry.

“Just one more hour girl.” Lilly called out to me. “Then you can go and enjoy the rest of the day.” She said taking a deep breath. “Man, you can smell that chicken frying. And it's really making my mouth water too.”

Why the ranger was addressing me “hon” and “miss”? According to my survival rule I didn’t question a person in the uniform no matter how much I wanted to know what was so girly in my appearance. When I left my home yesterday I looked like someone in between of Robert Englund and Dolph Lundgren, sixty-seven years old and hair in a regular cut. I was never in my life mistaken for a female.

“ How do you mean?” The girl asked puzzled.

“ Well,” Kelsey's tone going cold. “ What I did back there and how I did it is suppose to be secret. The Ninja are all suppose to be extinct. Nothing more than a myth or a legend. Being you know who I am. I should eliminate you.”

“ What” The girls voice shook.

“ Calm down, What is your name?” Kelsey asked in a more relaxed tone.

Decisions, Decisions, Desissyons

How I began …… as a siss’sister. Some are born girls, some achieve girlhood, some have girlhood thrust into them. An adapted quotation. Ooops.

Saturday came soon enough. A hazy mist hung over the whole town, the air was hot and humid. Stepping outside felt like one was stepping into a steam bath. The sickly sweet smell of magnolia blooms and blooming flowers scented the air. Across the street Ginger’s Bakery was putting out some fresh donuts in the display window. A few people were milling about the front of the local Post Office and finally a lone bagboy was gathering up some stray shopping carts in front of the Local Sunflower.

I was halfway through my hot chocolate when the door to the my room swung open. There in the doorway stood my older sister. Now, Kayla was a full fourteen years older than me. Growing up, I rarely saw much of her, save those rare visits around the holidays. So, around three times a year if I was luck, those three times of course being Easter, Thanksgiving and finally Christmas.

The dry erase board in my room, told me the nurse for the morning shift was somebody named “Veronica”. It turns out that Veronica was a hand full of years older than me. A young nurse from school. She still had that freshly pinned shine about her. My eyes followed Veronica around the room as she checked on everything. She seemed a little ill at ease.

A Kymmie Verse story

So me and Greg are sitting in the living room with Karla, her nose in a book as always. We heard the door open. The only one that was out was Kelsey.

“ Kels is that you?” Greg asked.

“ Yeah, Dad.”

Kelsey walked into the living room with a friend. “ How many this week, Kar?” She asked Karla.

“ Seven and” She looked at the book in her hand, “3/4”

“ And it is only Wednesday”

“ Mom, Dad, This is my girlfriend Brooklynn. She's going to sleep over tonight.”

“ OK” both Greg and I said together.

Simmering to a conclusion

Galen was sitting in his office, going over preparations to take Bug into custody. He felt like a wannabe inventor trying to become an actual inventor. It was one idea after another. He just couldn’t figure out a way militarily that would even work out successfully for them. It was getting to the point that he would be forced to enlist the help of military strategists and historians to aid in this endeavor. But Bug might simply be too powerful for Galen, the Agency, and the best the military had to offer.

A rolling boil...

CAUTION - This chapter contains flashback to a traumatic event. There is no graphic description of the event but it is referenced by a character's words while they are having a flashback and reliving it. This is the most traumatic section of this story, and as it is my first I might be being overly cautious in flagging it.

Douglas is forced to apologize and the girls escape to Bree's bedroom for relationship soul searching or something like that

“ Hey, Reid. When are you gonna give me my parking spot?”

“ My parking spot. I bet Carswell far and square.”

“ So lets run for it. This thing will eat any of your Buick's”

Chuckling, “yeah right. OK, Friday 11 pm Monastery drag. But I had better give my winter beater a tune up to make it fair.”

This is set in my A New Life universe, which is set in Dot's M.Y.T.H. universe.

This is just a bit of fluff that I wrote to celebrate the season.
