The defining of those columnists who offered advice about love as “lovelorn columnists” stems from the 1933 novel, “Miss Lonelyhearts,” by Nathaneal West, in which a trouble-making reporter is “demoted” by his editor to write the newspaper’s female-oriented advice column. The storyline was adapted into a 1933 movie, “Advice to the Lovelorn.” This is a story of how a young boy experiences the same fate.

I got my suitcase and went to my room to take out one of my bras. I figured that undoing my binding and showing that I had breasts would be the best way to start. However when I opened my suitcase it wasn’t what I was expecting, yes there were bras in there but also a variety of skirts and dresses and, more importantly, none of my pants. The very unladylike curse words I yelled at seeing this drew the attention of Amy and Yuki, them quickly knocking on my door.

Yuki: “Are you OK in there, it sounded like you got hurt?”

The story deals with a future world where things are very different and it involves harsh language, harsh realities and unexpected civil and sexual behaviours. In this not too distant future, in a new type of society, there are citizens and then there are numbers; servants, maids and other registered slaves and then the officially non-existant ''wild ones''. This is their story. There is use of some coarse language and the readers are warned that the content is sometimes unpleasant and disturbing.

He was walking in a long hallway. Along the sides were doors. As far as he could see to the front, the hallway stretched on for hundreds of doors before ending at a distant wall, but to his rear there was just one door, but it, unlike all the ones on the sides of the hall, was only partly closed.

This triggers a giggle fit from Yuki and she and Kim start discussing various outfits that they can get me in while I grab my medical papers and passport and head out. While walking towards the reception I get filled with a sense of dread. This guy is way too similar to that one customs officer. Medical reasons didn’t work on him and I get the feeling they won’t work on this guy either. On top of that Kim and Yuki have a history of trying to get me into skirts. Granted that was before they found out I was actually a boy but I’m not certain how serious they are this time.

One of the most active authors contributing to my OVERLORD'S ZHOR UNIVERSE site (now long in hiatus) has been Christopher Leeson. He has contributed many a good idea that I have been pleased to incorporate into the office mythos of Zhor. His “The Stake War” became a true favorite of mine the first time I read it. His newest offering below is a description of “joy houses" and "penal brothels.” The basic idea for penal brothels comes from John Norman's Gor novels (but hey, so did the basic idea that inspired Zhor), but he has added a Zhorian flourish.

Monsters both real and imagined live within its confines terrifying the burgeoning little girl within. Who can banish that fear? Mommy and Daddy. Despite this clear defeat, Ryan/Kaylee continues to try and assert himself.

Gradually, the banishment of the dark and the hand stopped my incessant, uncontrollable sniveling. Through it all, I shook and mewled words that mostly didn’t exist. I turned to face the two voices in my room. A smiling, yet worried Kathryn, hair mussed, clad in a silk nightgown, looked down at me. Within her look and her touch, there was love. It was palpable. Thomas stood next to her at my bedside. He was the one who plugged in the Frozen-themed night light.

I took a deep breath as I marched into the living room where dad was watching TV. Defiantly, I stood between him and the television set, earning a confused stare from the middle-aged man.

"Something you want to tell me, Jason?" Dad asked as I dramatically placed my hands on my hips.

"Dad," I said in a loud, proud voice. "I- I'm gay." An eternity passed as dad's face remained neutral, before he simply nodded once.

"Okay," dad said. "Can I go back to watching my TV programme now?"

"Wh-what?" I asked. "Didn't you hear what I just said? I said I'm gay!"
