Magic makeup?

Dorothy looked at the makeup bag with deep suspicion.

On the face of it, such an object shouldn’t be the object of paranoia, especially since in a way it represented the progress she had made in the last couple of years - finally shaking off fear and beginning a transition to womanhood.

But the bag’s contents now represented a barrier to further progress, and in a way Dorothy couldn’t understand the reason for.

Alexandra Fleming awakes to witness her daughter Cassandra’s gift has arrived. Several previously mentioned paradoxes reach finality.

Unfortunately I'm rated as the worst lawyer at our law office so I get the cases no one else wants. So when a distinguished gentleman and what must be his very cute daughter are shown into my office I wonder what the catch is. Oh, a discrimination case. Well, that explains it. Not what we usually deal with at Cook, Brewster & Yorke.

The President of the United States of America stands looking out through a window in the Oval Office. She’s thinking about the events since her announcement the day after the election in November. She is still amazed and appalled how fast things moved since then. The pace has been unprecedented. How could so many so-called friends and allies, many of them in congress only through her support, turn against her like that? She had been a very successful president for 8 years and now this!

I slipped my black trainers on and saw how the heel trod on the trousers. I saw they would be frayed to bits before I reached work. With yet another sinking feeling, I searched for the box of shoes.

The Visit

It was the most marvelous dream. It was like a Disney film. I was in the arms of a handsome prince being rescued from whatever spell I had been put under by the evil queen. I let out a happy little moan and sighed contentedly. I had the desire to open my eyes, tinged with the reluctance that it would mark the end of the dream and I would find myself back in my bed. I reluctantly cracked them open, squinting into the eyes of my handsome prince. Thank God, the dream wasn't over yet. I shivered with anticipation at what would come next.

“Are you alright ma'am?”
