Part Thirteen

The day of the settlements meeting arrived and plnety of food and drink was loaded on to carts along with the younger children, we were hoping that everyone would have a good time seeing it might be last time these people had a real get together for some time.

Part one

The dance teacher asked all the girls which of them could do splits comfortably, she was trying to get some sort of show ready for Christmas.

The boys were across the other side of the room and Brian and me were sitting against the wall about half between the two groups.

Me and Brian lived next door to each other and were best of friends, well to tell the truth we didn`t have any other friends.

A smile spread across her lips as she stepped in. “Hello Tracy.” She stopped just in front of the girl and hugged her. “You look beautiful.” She whispered into Tracy's ear.

“Don't ask me. Maybe she's been in there all this time, she just needed the chance to come out.” Modine said as she went to the cupboard and pulled out a loaf of freshly made bread. She waited for Tracy to turn back to her and she cut a slice off of the loaf. She then offered the knife to her. “Here you go young lady. Five more slices, just like the one I did.”

Part Twelve

We`ve heard the fighting has started again somewhere in the west, how long it will last we don`t know , it all depends on whatever troops and resources each side will commit.

When we first started this conflict we had limited resources due to the length of our supply lines, as usual our allies will not support us but will supply the enemy with weapoms and ammunition.

Chapter 3

Oh yay they’re still coming over.

I grab my burger again and stuff a lot of it into my mouth. I’m not a pig, but I can be. One of the easiest unladylike things I can do is to take this big ole chomping bite of something I’m eating and be as messy as possible. There’s ketchup on my face and dripping out my burger.

CHAPTER 26
It wasn’t a bad Summer, all told. There was an awful lot of adjustment to fit in and fit ourselves to, and I have to admit I did miss Tabby. She had been my confidante, my only friend, for as long as it took me to find out that the last wasn’t true and never had been. I said goodbye to her properly, and packed a few outfits for her in her new home with the girls.

The General promised to look into our predicament and after getting directions to the Admin Center left with his escort.

Our forces took complaints seriously and dealt harshly with the guilty, usually a long jail sentence after being dismissed from the services and losing any pension rights etc.

It was a good job the others were late back, because our clothes took a little while to find. I grabbed one of my ‘Tabitha’ nighties after a rinse of, well, just there, and joined my lover in our bed, where he had already settled himself after making two cups of tea. He took one look at the nighty, and simply shook his head.

The occupying forces were spending to keep the locals pacified and it was working for the greatest part, I hadn`t know before but information was being sent to our troops about enemy forces, numbers and strong points.

She felt her legs turning to lead and her side ache as if pierced by a sharp knife. She knew her limit had been reached but kept going anyway. Even so it surprised her when the ground jumped up and hit her in the face.
