Given the sheer number of Police and Fire Service Vehicles in the street outside my home, there really was nothing for it but to pack a bag and leave my home. I could see that there was even a TV Crew interviewing a couple of residents. I caught my breath and began unbuttoning myself. Alvin was only watching in brief glances. I stopped when I ran out of buttons, the wind from the open window on Alvin's side making the loose top of my dress flap open and closed.

Cheshire looks at her family as they sit around at the dining room table. Christine was glowing and Cheshire could guess that Christine has been enjoying herself. It was a good thing that she couldn’t get pregnant, but then again she figures Christine would make a good mother.

She looks at Tizzy and a smile appears on her face. She was so proud of how Tizzy turned out. She had been a scared malnourished, beaten
little boy, who was ready to end it all. Now she was a grown caring woman with a child of her own and a husband.

Stone rode Doug out to the site where his dragon dreams had occurred, and pulled up, feeling more than a little trepidation. This caused him to pull out Pate, even though he had felt no imminent danger. He immediately went into battle mode, where everything appeared slow motion with wire frame shapes.

I knew the moment the steering on my car went funny that I was done for. It was Christmas Eve and in a moment of extreme foolishness, I’d gone out for a drive.

I know what you are thinking. “Silly fool” and worse. It was Christmas and I wanted to be myself for a few hours at least.

Bucht followed Dock through the disheveled streets into the Talos district. Nervaeus was last seen in the area.

“What’s the plan?” Bucht asked.

Dock said, “Adamast shouldn’t be far behind us. If we spot Nervaeus, we slow him down if necessary, but wait for her to launch an all-out assault. I’ll scan for any weaknesses, and heal minor injuries, as usual.”

“Works for me. I think we should have packed some water.”

“There should be plenty around this part of town for you to play with.”

Even though he wasn’t the best at flying, Saelum Blaster flew like the wind to the hills north of Steel Canyon. A villain chased him here, thinking he was trying to fly away from the fight or something. Saelum Blaster ignored the flying villain for now.

The undead creatures had to be coming from somewhere like a bunch of ants. That somewhere happened to be one of these hills.

This Chapter brings us to the end of Day 3. Nextday is Quarterday.

Defiler grinned as he strolled through the chaotic hospital. One officer tried to turn him away earlier. That officer was dead after a mere scratch on the neck. He was going to leave, sure enough, but Defiler came here for one reason. He wasn’t leaving until his work was done.
