by Erisian

Book 6

If you have yet to read the saga - the tale starts here:

Into The Light

Hope you enjoy!

Part One

Prologue - Bargain

“Are you certain this is the right path?”

Two figures crept down a narrow underground passageway, shoes slipping across shallow puddles lining the curved concrete floor. Their coats, one jet black and the other a lighter brown, flickered in the weak light offered only by a white crystal held forward by the taller and much darker-skinned man.

“They didn’t provide a map, Callas. I told you the same instructions they told me, and your memory is as perfect as mine. If you think we’ve misapplied the sequence, you should’ve spoken up.”

“Hmm.”

Leigh Anne - Chapter 27

Leigh Anne – Chapter 27
By Barbara Lynn Terry

(Author’s Note:) I had a complaint about listing the lineups for each school. How is the reader supposed to follow the tournament, if they don’t who is playing and from what school? I realize that I cannot please everyone. But, the lineups are important. Thank you all for reading and commenting. Barbara.)

Chapter 1 – The tournament continues.

This year, for sure!

This year, for sure!

Last year was a failure,
Summer was a bust,
Fall fell apart.
One last go!

He'll notice me this time or else!

"Great! Looking great, Grandma."

"Great! Looking great, Grandma."

Following on from the story of my Great Granddaughter, Frances, I was learning some new lessons of my own. Helping her learn to be a teenage girl had strange and unusual side-effects on MY life. [See : https://bigclosetr.us/topshelf/fiction/53268/boy-girl-my-gre...

Dressing for Practicality

Sometimes I wonder if the entire world is crazy or if it's just me. For quite some time now I have been staying home unemployed while my wife goes off to work or school. Being unemployed is not the greatest thing in the world, but it has given me a great deal of time to be dressed, and therein lies the source of my bemusement. Tuesday to Thursday I get up after everyone has left, Ricky gets dressed and is alone until shortly before the school bus arrives in the afternoon. I am a solitary dresser, I'm not used to having anyone around when I wear a dress.

The Call Of The Haven: Chapter 1

Cassandra's abilities in magic almost perfectly matched her business acumen, being mostly in the realm of organizing and running everything.

Tanisha's abilities were very much in the natural realm, primarily to do with plants, but she also had a fair knowledge of genetics. She put that to use once they had brought the seven vehicles to the new town and they had set up personal tents to give them a sense of privacy.

I am not Cinderella - Part 3

The flight west was long and boring. I read the report on my sisters at least three times. It seemed incredible that Ruby and Emerald had not only admitted their crimes but engaged in therapy relating to anger management.

Sapphire on the other hand was totally unrepentant. The report contained copies of letters that had been smuggled out of her prison by other inmates. She was vehement in her goal of making sure that I didn’t enjoy what she considered were ill gotten gains that were in her warped view of the world, rightly hers.

Chapter 1:

Author's note: I know its been a while since I wrote the prologue for this story. You might want to read it (or read it again) so this chapter makes more sense ...

On the super island known as “The Compound” ...

Fluke woke with a start, sending her partner Sarah off the bed.

“Hey!” Sarah shouted.

“Sorry. I just had one whack of a nightmare.”

Sarah climbed back onto the bed, and asked, “What was it?”

If I were to sum my life down to a single word, I would be hard pressed to pick anything other than ironic. I remember things I did not do, and remember other things that most would call me insane in claiming. Yet the fact remains that I am something I wasn't, nor could be and how I came to be who and what I am is a tale already told. Which, should you be reading this, you have doubtlessly read already.

CHRISTMAS DREAMS

(WISHING ON THE CHRISTMAS STAR)

When we are children, we often wish upon a star and hope our dreams come true. Do our dreams come true without any action from ourselves, or is it just a deep understanding that all will turn out as we wish?

The Call Of The Haven: Prologue

The cautions I've added are for the story as a whole. The ones for rape and violence are relevant to this part of the story.

Chapter 26
A little more wine. And a delivery.

Today, Monday, Amy started her third week of clinicals, and it was going to be from four to midnight in the emergency room. So this morning I let her sleep, and I worked my way out of bed without waking her. I got ready for work. And she was still sleeping when I left. I had arranged with my uncle to leave work early this week so that I could take Amy to the hospital.

We're a creative bunch, those of us males who like to wear women's clothes. I've never seen a bunch of folks so intent on inventing new words to describe every little nuance of just why they do this or wear that. My sisters seem to have an endless capacity to transform every Greek or Roman root for two into some new combination of syllables that exactly describes their motivation for putting on a dress.

I am not Cinderella - Part 2

I was slightly fearful when I was ushered into the presence of the President. All the Secret Service and White House Officials were very standoffish or downright rude towards me from the moment I’d arrived at Camp David. Despite the summons coming from the man himself, they treated me with an attitude that was in my opinion insulting. They made it clear that I was not very welcome. I guessed that with the pending inauguration they had their hands full.

“Please come on in and take a seat,” he replied in his distinctive New England accent.
