Somehow we made it to our table, Stella and me that is, Simon had stopped to talk to some bloke near the entrance. "You won't mention those two to Simon, will you?" I asked, almost pleaded with Stella.

"No, I'll just go and ask them to join us," she joked. "Look I might only be a nurse, but I do have some functioning brain cells."

        Pulling the still-hot load of towels out of the dryer, Nina piled it into the laundry basket. Taking a towel off the top, she started folding.

        Christina took the next one, folded it, and placed it on the stack they were building on top of the dryer.

        "Thanks for helping out with my chores," said Nina.

        Christina responded, "Your chores are my chores."

        "In that case, do you want to write my history report?" Nina joked.

Joan and Sam continue to wend their way through the first week of school.

Eventually the shenanigans on the floor stopped, Stella helped me to my knees and then to my feet. I felt extremely stupid and embarrassed and was blushing like a stop light. Simon still lay on the floor convulsed with laughter, Stella was also chuckling. She looked at me seriously for a moment and said, "Now you've lain with him you'll have to marry him." This brought a further fit of guffaws from the floor and she dissolved into giggles at her own joke.

My heart was pounding,I wanted to quieten it in case Simon could hear it downstairs. Compared to this, the pounding in my ears from a hard hillclimb, was nothing. I felt really frightened, who was Simon?

Somehow I made it through lunch without screaming. I was getting frustrated by the constant correcting. Nadia had whispered something to Gwen, who passed it to Meredith who smiled and nodded. I knew something was up and almost bothered to worry about it, but I had gone beyond caring. They were winning and now I was going along for the ride. After all, the only thing I could do was quit, which I wouldn’t do. I had given my word.

Joan is finally allowed back in class. She begins to question Jared’s character. After much deliberation the three musicians agree on a name for the band. And finally, Fred offers Sam a job…

        Nina stood on her tip-toes, stretching to slide a case of paper towels onto the top shelf. She didn't like working in the grocery store during vacations, but working with Christina was another matter entirely. "I wish you were staying longer." Nina said, placing the last case on the shelf. "Why didn't you take the whole week off?"

We returned to the house and I took my suitcases upstairs with Gwen helping me. The rest of my bags of stuff were already there. We laid out my stuff on the bed and started to go through it. Nadia, the Rush Chair, showed up and helped us, making statements about Meredith’s work throughout.

Very few of my clothes survived the purge, mostly some sweaters and a few of my flannel shirts. All stuff that was deemed too masculine was packed back up and taken down to storage. Even my luggage was sent down. I was left with almost nothing of my old life.

The shower had returned me to some degree of normality and I was beginning to recover from the hypothermia or shock, or both. I grabbed the yellow bath towel and began to gently pat myself dry. I was covered in bruises and scratches, none were too deep and I'd suffered more from falling off the bike on earlier occasions.

Joan has a hard time coming to terms with the powers that be. With the help of family and friends she manages to get things straightened out for the time being. Sam does his best to make sure that Joan’s alright...

A meeting with Ananisia to discuss her love life and a lecture about an ancient philosopher. The unexpected return of a family member places old matters in proper perspective.         Christina sat on the bus to Dover, leafing through the current issue of Vogue magazine, where she'd dog-eared a few pages containing some looks she wanted to try out with Steph.

        This time, her visit to the Transformations Boutique had not been as traumatizing as the first time. Though the place made still her feel extremely uncomfortable, she tried to look at it as though it was an ordinary salon visit. The Brazilian wax wasn't quite as painful as the last time as her pubic hairs had never quite grown back to their old thickness. She supposed there was no real need to wax her bikini area, but she had to admit that the feeling of her panties caressing her baby soft skin made her feel more secure in her new role.
