This is a work of fiction any mention of real people, places or institutions is purely coincidental and does not imply that they are as suggested in the story.
We went home and after making a fuss of all my children and Daddy, he seemed to need as much of a hug as the girls. I phoned Simon to let him know I was home and he told me he had missed me so much he was coming home on Friday evening and I'd better be ready for him to shag me to death - he has such a way with words.
We told Daddy about our adventures in Cambridge and Sarah listened as well, being appalled by the TERFs abducting Trish and Tina's dad beating her up. It seems bigotry is alive and well and increasing, even Trump, that well known inhabitant of Florida swamp slime managed to add transgender people to a list of hates at one of his rallies, why I don't know, I'm not sure anyone has done anything to cause it, unless it's reacting to his promised policies to get his own back on anyone who has opposed him. Personally, I'd like to see Harris give him a job if she wins the election, cleaning out toilets in a prison in Puerto Rico. But it looks as if he is going to claim victory whatever happens and will play all sorts of games with the results, claiming this and that while trying to control the electoral college. It seems he would be abetted by other Republicans of the hierarchy and it seems as if now nearly all of them have been infected by his disease. More violence is likely to ensue and if he loses, this time he needs to be imprisoned to inciting insurrection.
Come Friday evening Simon rushed me off to bed and fell asleep after the first of our sessions, it seemed shagging me to death needed a rethink, I wasn't too sad and was sore enough after one go. I deftly slipped out of bed and washed and dressed, presenting myself at the dinner table to enjoy one of David's marvellous dishes. When I eventually went back to the bedroom expecting to try and excuse any further attempt of his threat he was still fast asleep and stayed that way until morning. By then I had more or less recovered and provided he was extra gentle, I let him have me again. That I would describe as love-making and we spent a blissful hour before Simon realised he hadn't had any breakfast or dinner and rang down to the kitchen and asked David to do him a big fry up for his breakfast.
By the time we had both showered and dressed, Danni was just setting off for Bournemouth, so we had a quick hug and wished her good luck. "Oh, I doubt I'll be playing, I've missed several training sessions, so I'll be lucky to be on the bench."
"Want me to phone them?"
"No, I'll sit out today's game and have a rest."
It appeared her wishes weren't allowed by her coach who sent her on just after half-time when the team were struggling. Her little holiday must have done her good because she scored twice in ten minutes of being the substitute, twenty minutes later she made a third goal and Bournemouth ladies beat Man Utd ladies by 3 - 2. Danni had a nice bonus coming.
She had phoned Trish to notify her of being home and was half rebuffed as Trish grappled with the problems of Mars' rovers and the maths involved. It seemed Trish was looking to become an astrophysicist, perhaps I should put her in touch with Brian May.
It all went quiet for a few weeks as Danni and Sarah went back to uni and the girls went back to school. These days David took and collected them which meant I wasn't accosted by Sister Maria for things I didn't have time for anyway. My department had survived with Diane maintaining it but she was glad to give it back to me and promptly went off for a weekend in Llandudno. It rained, as it does there - well there are numerous mountains fairly close, but she had a good time.
Joyce, Tina's mum phoned and asked to come and see me. I invited them both to come for a visit which she accepted. It was Friday again and Simon was staying up in town, he was close to bankrupting the US millionaire who had been bankrolling the TERFs all over the place. He also now knew about his daughter's proclivities and that had severely dented his enthusiasm in supporting her cause. Simon felt no mercy and was determined the man would never pose problems again, and took him to the cleaners, he also managed to call in a mortgage on the church building and proceeded with getting a developer to seek permission to build on the site. You don't cross Simon or harass his family without severe consequences.
Tina and Joyce arrived in time for dinner and they were amazed at the size of the house and the fact that we employed a chef and fulltime cleaners. Emily and her mum had given up their home and moved into the cottage next to David's. They were friends with each other but he wasn't her type nor her his, so they would go off to watch a film or eat out but they told me they weren't dating.
Joyce and Tina had moved out from the farm and were living in a nearby town, they hadn't seen her father since the police had issued an order for him to stay away from them. Joyce had a wealthy family and her mother had paid for Tina to go to a private girls' school after the New Year, which was approaching very quickly. Meanwhile, she had been receiving home schooling while she polished up her girly act.
Some of my girls had managed to be accepted at the convent without too much trouble but they had had a sister about the same age who was already there, I hadn't seen it like that before, but it must have helped enormously.
After a brilliant dinner, we adjourned to my study to discuss whatever thing Joyce had wanted to talk over. Tina, Danni and Sarah had gone off to talk in Danni's room to give us some space in case we wanted to talk about things they'd have found difficult and which might inhibit either f us 'mums' saying what we really thought.
It appeared that Howard, her husband was emerging again. She and Tina had gone use a flat her mother owned and was luckily vacant. Howard had tried to get me charged with assault, but we had evidence that he had threatened me with a firearm which meant that the police withdrew his licence and confiscated the gun. The CPS hadn't decided whether to prosecute or not. As Tina and Joyce were now away from the threat, I wasn't too worried, naïve little me.
We were talking about education and issues and divorce when the doorbell rang. I wasn't expecting any callers and Emily who'd been making up beds for our visitors went to answer the door. She was forcefully pushed aside by a man who was wearing a ski mask and holding a hand gun. He made her take him to my study whereupon he pushed her through the door surprising both Joyce and myself.
I noted the had gun which he was pointing at Emily's head while trying to keep a watch on Joyce and myself. He was too far away for me to have go at so I stayed sitting, hoping I instilled confidence in Joyce but wanting to hug the terrified Emily, who lay cowering on the thick carpet of my study.
"Hello, Howard," I said.
"Who?" he replied trying to disguise his voice.
"Please don't insult my intelligence, there is no one likely to break into my house with a gun, I have killed most of the others and the rest are in prison for a long stay, so it's pretty obvious who you are."
"You can't prove it," he suggested.
"Please put the gun down before you get hurt, and even if you don't shoot any of us, remember hand guns are prohibited in this country with a ten year sentence on anyone found carrying one with a view to injure or kill someone."
"You're going for divorce," he screamed at Joyce who looked on paralysed with fear.
"Wouldn't you if some moron threatened you with a shotgun?" I asked him.
"Keep out of it," he threatened me with the gun.
"What do you need the gun for, Howard, "Are you scared of little ol' me?"
"I'm going to kill you bitch for interferin' in other people's business and stoppin' me beating the shit out of that little nonce."
"I'll bet you can't do it with your bare hands, coward that you are, need a gun do you, want me to borrow a shotgun from my dad, because that pea shooter doesn't look very big, Oh, I see you're a bit small in the willie department, so you compensate with a gun."
"Shurrup bitch or I'll blow your head off."
"You won't with the safety catch on." It must be the oldest trick in the book but for a split second he looked at the gun and I was out of my seat and on him. I managed to grab his hand with the gun and bashed it against my desk on the way down, he yelled and confirmed my suspicion I had broken some bones with the impact. He had dropped the gun and rose to try and strangle me again. This time I used the turning away manoeuvre and broke his hold on me, he swung but I ducked and killed him in his family jewels. He swore and swung at me again, this time making some contact and as I fell down there was a loud bang, Joyce had picked up the gun and shot him in the chest. He looked at her with astonishment then fell down nearly hitting Emily who was scrambling out of the room. I rushed to deal with him, he was still conscious and I told him to hang on and stay with me. I was staunching the wound with tissues, trying to stop the bleeding and to save my carpet from blood stains - very caring - me.
The room was filled with children and Daddy, who'd run off to phone police and ambulance. Howard was slipping away when Danni and Tina joined me and started pumping in the blue light. I'd pulled his mask off and was monitoring the pulse in his neck. It became weak and faster, he was going into fibrillation. I gave as much energy as I could and he jerked slightly, his pulse steadied and sirens were heard and then in rushed police and paramedics.
It was chaos for some time as Joyce surrendered the gun and admitted she had shot him when he had attacked me. Emily and I agreed with her account of things. Howard was taken off to hospital by helicopter, Southampton General. Emily was arrested and taken off by police begging me to look after Tina., Danni already had an arm around her. Finally, after I had calmed Daddy down, we had a cuppa while thinking we'd have to give statements in the morning. I felt it had been a clear case of selfdefence but the police always like to look up the cat's arse in case they'd overlooked something, so I could be at the cop shop much of the day. I'd have to phone Diane, I didn't look forward to that, she'd play hell with me, all I had were few bruises, Howard was worse off plus a perforation, the size of a bullet in his chest.
we'd have a busy day tomorrow, less so if he survived, so I offered a request to you know who and sent healing light to him at the hospital. For now it was in the lap of the gods or goddesses and I final got to bed about two o'clock, still sore after Simon's ministrations from the night before. I was glad he'd gone back to town, he would have killed Howard and possibly got himself shot for his efforts.

Never a dull moment
Just the you think things are settling down, another bit of excitement fills the void.
Bang.
Cathy would have quickly ended it, but the girl did not know that. As he was unarmed, and injured, the plod may try to charge her. His continued fighting, and the verbal threats may be her saving grace. The red press are gonna love this.
