Looking to create an "Indigenous Language Elementary Education Initiative".

I know what the topic line says and I'll delve into it soon but first an explanation. I'm not going to talk about DAPL or anything except specifically how Native Americans have consistently been shafted throughout the history of this country, even up into the 21st century(Apache land in Arizona
being seized by the state of Arizona to give to oil companies).
What I propose here are two solutions that would work great in tandem...the first having a native American man/woman as an anchor of a

DAPL outcome

I am sure most of you have heard about the court's outcome for DAPL, that they're allowed to pump oil through that pipe across the Missouri river up in North Dakota. It's believed that the oil will have started flowing Monday-Wednesday of this week. A judge ruled against an appeal or something as such.

Sensorship in the Big Closet????

I am somewhat saddened this morning to realize that censorship has reared it's ugly head here.

I posted a blog late last night regarding the most recent reversal made by the Trump administration, and commented about a posting I had found on the LinkedIn site - a comment which was not only anti-TG, but ignorant and hurtful.

So you wanna be a writer. Some advice from a professional.

What follows is an interview with a very successful writer, Richard S. Prather, who sold 36 books and 4 under pseudonyms. His genre wasn't TG Fiction, but detective stories with a popular hero named Shell Scott. I've pasted the whole interview here, so ignore the parts that don't have much to do with writing and publishing your work, but DO pay attention to how he says he plotted and wrote what he wrote and how he wrote it.

OH MY GOSH!

I have just seen some amazing satire. Alec Baldwin was incredible as Trump. But I have to say Melissa McCarthy was even better as Sean Spicer. Despite being a proud, true blue Republican. Why the hell did we let Trump get this far? I'm betting that if Mr. Trump is watching it. Saturday Night Live (SNL) must really be getting to him. Please note I said Mr. Trump as he's not my President. I just hope it continues but, that being said. With that idiot in the White House they will never run out of material.

In Transition

I am constantly seeing in news, "Trump in Transition"

There is only one thing that enters my mind when I hear this. Over and over I am being reminded about these thoughts. How far along is his transition. Is he transitioning from Female to Male? Maybe he is at the beginning of the process, and is a Male to Female individual who is Transgendered. Is he going to transition openly while in office?

Our new President-Elect, with a vice-president who is severely anti-LGBTQ, is in Transition.

Smile Everybody, This is America. :)

Interesting political summary, post election.

Just to keep things on an even keel - this is written about the Donald Trump campaign (and the man), but it is by someone who supported Clinton. This is pretty darned apolitical, but is good information to keep on hand.

Mind you, in a few spots, I'm using 'apolitical' in the "Irish Neutral" sense, meaning attack EVERYONE equally.

I'm usually an advocate for "Every Vote Counts,"

And that if you don't vote when you can, you shouldn't (not CAN'T, never 'can't,') complain most of the time, but this year....

This year.

I was registered on time. I've been following things, planning to cast my own vote (the 'Deez Nutz' ticket, if anyone's curious.) But when it came down to actually going today, seeing every single Trump sign up and down the roads, knowing just how the ticket would fall regardless of whatever I did.

Call me a coward, but I stayed home.

I Voted, Did You? Will You

A week ago today I voted. Did You? Will you? If you don't you deserve the fools that got elected. Just to show you how civic minded my grandfather was he voted in the 1960 election. He died in 1958. Please don't tell me what fools you did choose.

Voting....!

With early voting underway, I went and did just that. I made the mistake of posting who I voted for and why on fb. Two friends, both women, got into a Facebook war on my page for the better part of 2 hours.

I strongly encourage everyone to cast a ballot, no matter who it is that you support. Even if you hate all the candidates, please go vote for whomever you feel is the lesser evil. Too many men and women have fought and died for us to have that right.
Just dont post it on fb.....

Advice from members of Islam please

I have been approached by Tenant Support Workers for my residence ( have to like supported housing ) asking me to low key assist a new trans woman that should have moved in yesterday ( or at least filled out papers ).

She is a refugee from the middle east, and has not had it easy at all. ( to the point men from the region are a serious issue for her )

That is all I know about her, what I need is ideas on how to interact with her to avoid triggering her issues as well as knowledge about how to interact appropriately with a woman of Islam.

Turned on my computer this afternoon after work and the first newsflash popup was this, US sues North Carolina over transgender bathroom law One of the NC lawmakers seemed to think it was a bluff. I guess it wasn't. So the fun begins.

I was surfing the net and found one of the transgender bathroom rights versus sexual predators (probably a NC law supporter) ads. With the statement "Please do not let these hate groups win!!! " appended in support of the ad.

I have to ask, how does supporting a hate group (anti-transgender) in any way prevent a hate group from winning??

A document from the UK government about the law as it stands for transgender customers and the requirements of the law to businesses providing services to them such as shops or banks. This if ridiculous. This isn't someone just starting to transition.

The student who filed the complaint has been living as a girl for a number of years, Knight said. She plays sports and would like to be in the same locker room as her friends and classmates. Relegating her to a separate room down a long hallway from the gym only serves to stigmatize her, he said.

Answers to the bathroom debate

In reference to the great bathroom debate. I keep hearing people say that transgender people need to use the restroom that corresponds to their anatomy. This has got to be the stupidest thing that I've ever heard. Have you ever seen another person's anatomy while in the bathroom? If you have, then you're the pervert. If a person looks, talks, walks, identifies as a woman, what possible good can come from making them use the men's bathroom (unless you think transgender murder is a good thing).

Alberta Catholic School board fights over trans rights

Is it time for Alberta to ditch the Catholic School Board?

That is the question that is being asked in the wake of a horrible display of immaturity by the Edmonton Catholic School Board Trustees at a meeting on Tuesday about how best to accommodate trans students. Supposed adults elected to the board yelled over each other, called each other names, and said horrible things about trans kids.

So now, we can hope that in the cold light of day people take some responsibility, show some maturity, and try a little kindness towards trans kids.
