Is anybody else getting a "Error 503 Service Unavailable" message? I haven't really tracked it but it seems to happen around this time (1 AM CDT) when it does happen. As far as I can tell it goes away fairly quickly
I just got an email allegedly from Lulu asking me to update my credit card information! !!!!! I've not given them any of my CC info, in fact I don't remember buying anything from them at all. I deleted it without opening it. So if you see it pop up on your email inbox, I suggest you think about it before opening it.
Well, I'm not registered over at Whateley (on purpose) so I can't comment there. And even if I could, it wouldn't do the reader any good, due to their comment system. There is a fairly new story posted, titled "All The King's Horses", its a first generation canon story. I'm not going to spoil it for anybody, but I need to say this: For people who suffer with PTSD, this may very well push some buttons for you. It did for me. It is well written, I'll give it that.
I'm trying to find a story I'm pretty sure is a Whateley tale. All I can remember is a class is on the firing range shooting blanks. Then one student's gun makes the sound of a real fired shot. The range instructer stops everything and is headed to check out what happened. The clueless idiot swings the gun around in spite of being told to put the it down and shoots the protagonist.
Looking for a story about a teen boy that has refused to cut his hair. He ends up making a deal with his mom that if he can properly take care of his hair and keep it off his collar for the month/summer she will let him get a scooter he wants badly. This of course means he starts learning how to do updos from his mother's hair stylist. He is spotted by a couple of girls from school and it goes on from there.
A Texas state appeals court has overturned a county court ruling that the widow of a fallen firefighter wasn't entitled to to his estate because she is trans, not GG.
At the finish of the Oklahoma State University homecoming parade this morning a car traveling at high speed crashed through a crowd of parade watchers. Three confirmed dead, eight critical, seven serious, and seven 'walking wounded'. The driver was a 25 yr old women and is in custody on a charge of Driving Under the Influence. Not an OSU student, a local resident.
It’s important to remember to drink responsibly. But for those of you who are likely to ignore this advice, here’s a fun lesbian drinking game to make the office party or lesbian happy hour even happier.
The stories listed under the "More Like This" section, how are they chosen? (Drove my parents nuts always asking for explanations!) I've seen a couple that the recommended stories were not anywhere close to the story chapter they were appended to.
Where can I find an explaination, detailed if possible, of what all the stuff is under the "Activity Settings" header in My Account. I don't like settings I don't understand. What I want is to find out how to set that so nothing has changed from the way things were before.
Perhaps I missed the notice, so what's going on with FM? I haven't been able to access the site in several days. All I get is a Content Encoding Error, something about the site using an invalid or unsupported form of compression. Can I please buy a clue here?!?!
A lost story. I've read it several times, so its out there somewhere. The POV is British, and it reads like a Brit wrote it, so likely it is one of our U.K. authors.
To all my Canadian brothers and sisters, the ones I know and the ones I don't, allow me to express my sorrow and sympathy over the events in Ottawa today. I wish I could give each and everyone of you a big hug. Especially those who have a loved one involved in this crime.
Native Oklahoman and Hollywood great James Garner has passed away at the age of 86. My first memory of him is on the TV show "Maverick" (which he hated), and he went on to become one of the most versatile male leads in Hollywood, able to move from TV shows to movies and back. He was always proud of being from Oklahoma, and its impossible for me to come up with even a partial list of all the things he did to benefit the people and the State of Oklahoma.
They don't make them like this anymore, and that's our loss. RIP Jim, we're gonna miss you.
Is anybody else having difficulties with the "Remember Me" aka "Persistent Logins"? I've tried a laptop with Vista, a tablet with Android and a phone with Android, and the same thing happens. I log in on the home page, select something I want to read, and click on it. But when the next page loads I'm logged out again. When I'm reading a long story like "Whisper" it gets annoying. My account page says I have one persistent login, but I see no way to toggle that setting to test it.
Found a story the other day and lost the link to it. It starts off with a mother and her son taken captive by a serial sexual assault prison escapee. They are tied up in an old shed and both are repeatedly raped and other assault crimes. He had decided to kill them both but the police arrived just in time. Mother and son are both severely traumatized.
Okay, I don't have a clue how to share something from Facebook to here so I hope a cut and paste works. This was posted today by David Gerrold, a noted author best known for writing the all time best Star Trek episode "The Trouble With Tribbles". It seemes it might have some relevance to certain on again/off again conversations here on Big Closet.

So a guy I don't know plonks down in one of my threads and promptly starts criticizing.
I'm looking for a story I saw awhile back. Actually, I saw part two posted and it looked interesting so I flipped back to part one and bookmarked it, or so I thought.
I've noticed that different stories appear differently on my cellphone. Just for the record: I have an LG Quantum (just released with Windows Mobile 7). I'll use two examples that are currently on the BC front page: "A Fortuitous Adventure: or, how I got my first job" by Louise Anne and "The Experiment: Part 10" by Donjo. Please note, I'm not singling out these two stories for any reason other than I looked at them on my smartphone.
I read a story several years ago, about a young man who has to help out at a department store filling in as a "Santa's Helper". As the days go by, he becomes increasingly feminine. She has a marvelous touch with the children, and receives the name 'Merry'. It was a touching Christmas story and I'd like to read it again.
