At the finish of the Oklahoma State University homecoming parade this morning a car traveling at high speed crashed through a crowd of parade watchers. Three confirmed dead, eight critical, seven serious, and seven 'walking wounded'. The driver was a 25 yr old women and is in custody on a charge of Driving Under the Influence. Not an OSU student, a local resident.
If anybody has a spare prayer laying around, pray for the families of the dead and all the rest of the victims and their families. Pray also for the various emergency workers. We and they need all the help we can get.
Update: I'm sad to report that a two yr old child has died from her injuries, bring the death toll to four. And another child, a young girl that looks about eight - ten years old, is one of those in critical condition. Here is a link to KOCO-TV's coverage.

And as much as some might not want to think of it
Also spend a moment in prayer for the woman at the wheel ... 25, just barely started in life, and now saddled with the knowledge she is responsible for the deaths or maiming of at least 25 people. Whatever drove her to this, whatever plans she might have had in her life are now over.
Praying for all of them
This really hit home because when I learned about it,I had just come home from a local walk on the city streets to raise money for breast cancer research.
On that walk, I passed a shrine to one person who had been killed in a cancer accident at that location.
Whatever demons drove the young driver to this tragedy, I hope she finds a way to cope and expunge them.
