I can’t get dressed

I hate this bloody pandemic. I want to get dressed and I can’t. I daren’t. My flatmates might not like it.

Authors note : I haven’t posted for a while now. Back in Dec 2018, I finished my set of 500-word ‘starter stories’ and the only person who took one and added a sequel ….. was me! Then the writing monkey took a break and couldn’t give me any worthwhile stories. Recently, I re-read some of my own stories and got a bit interested again. I had heard that the last guy who threw himself off “The Leap” had just driven there in his car with his girlfriend, ran up and over the barrier and he was gone. Dead on the rocks below within seconds. Too easy. But not me.

So along came Janet Downing. She came, and we talked. And I did not jump.

Tender Mercies

Turning away from the door, I caught sight of myself in the cheval mirror I'd set up near the sofa. It showed me as I truly am; a petite young woman with long blond hair and full, crimson lips. How could I explain this, account for my sudden metamorphosis? In all the months since I had come to live with her, Aunt Cathy had never seen me as my real self. She would never understand: very few people could, even in this day and age. I've never truly understood it myself....

Their ruse is effective and Peter passes Mila off as his wife at Redhaven, the town owned and run by the Sons of Jehovah, a secretive religious sect where everything looks perfect but women are kept as chattels. Mila become restless and seeks comfort in an old friend and goes exploring where she knows she shouldn't.

The Sleeping Beauty Killer is spiraling out of control. The power and domination that he projects over his family leads him to a very dark place. Penelope decides that drastic action is needed if they are ever going to catch the serial killer. This is the final chapter of this dark tale.

Chapter Five – Felicity’s Proposition

The Sleeping Beauty Killer strikes again but this time there is someone who who figures out his identity because of media coverage of the case. Lieutenant Silvia Bickle has to provide an interview to an old flame which turns out to be quite confrontational and Penelope and Bradley are still having problems with their relationship.
