Chapter 1: The Begining

There were klaxons going off and lights flashing, indicating a red alert. People were running for their duty stations
stressing over the unknown reason for the alert. That was quite normal on a ship this size. Only the senior officers knew
what was going on at the moment. And us lesser mortals, would have to get by until the captain saw fit to inform us.

The exchange was a set-up. My partner, James, and I with backup from a few other teams were to meet with an anonymous informant to learn where the disappearances were taking place, how they were taking place, and why. We had gotten indications that an ancient spirit from the Eastern Asia area, possibly Korea, possibly Japan, possibly some of the islands between. This is why we were called in, because we have been trained to deal with them.

“Mommy, mommy what am I doing in a hospital?” I look around seeing a blanket and pillow on the chair next to the bed when I see my mommy walk into my hospital room.

I wasn't in the mood to write my usual stuff, and I couldn't seem to think of anything, so I wrote a blog post asking for people to give me weird ideas and combinations. I took a bunch of them and turned them into a usable story. I had planned on having done in one shot, but it's taking a bit longer than planned. So here is the first part. The rest will be done tomorrow. At the end of this chapter I'll post the elements I used.
