I was completely, utterly, and totally speechless.
Of all the things I expected to be revealed when I sat down across from the Kappa Omega head girl, the very last thing on that list would have been the announcement that she knew about the dimensional shift. To say that a whole new twist had been added would be the understatement of the year.
Luckily, I recovered my wits after a few seconds and put on my most confused expression, hoping it seemed sincere.
I didn’t realise at the time how much a Halloween night out with my older sister Jenny when I was 13 years old would affect my life and would come back to haunt me many years later.
The throbbing in my head told me that something wasn't quite right when I regained consciousness. I felt something soft under me. That said 'you are in a bed'. The bleeping of a monitor told me that I was in a hospital. That in turn meant official records which leads to questions and possibly awkward ones at that.
The six show girls for Sunday were me, Elizabeth, Katrina, Eliise, Catlin and Karmen. Joanna was helping Halina by selling posters at ‘Answer’ and Marlen was with Ezuli selling posters and tunics beside ‘Maidens’.
Berget was told to just take it easy today; we didn’t want her being taken off to give birth just yet.
“I know you. Fact is I know hundreds just like you. Gateshead wasn’t it. You were about to blow me in to Social Services weren’t you? Nosey busy bodies like you should learn to just mind your own business. I know you’ll blow me in because you’re a teacher and you have to. When they arrived both Ashley and her mother were all giggles. It took them multiple trips to bring all of Ashley’s new clothes up to her bedroom by which time the floor was literally littered with. Another August, another Testing Day at the Kims' Dojang. Christie reflects on what the last fifteen months have wrought in her life and what she has to look forward to in her new future.
Abandon Warehouse:
Cat keeps tracking the truck. A few times she must drop back when a car cuts her off. However, since she had a tracker on the truck and the drone. She wasn’t worried about losing them.
After a while, the truck pulls into an old tire warehouse. She stops before the truck enters the warehouse and watches as the garage door closes. She parks her motorcycle and moves quietly towards the warehouse. She looks around and finds a window she could get to with the help of a pallet.
Under the tree, Sierra laid down on the grass, relishing the shade and the fresh summer air. Another recurring dream has Christie gathering her support team to find out what, if anything, her dreams warn her to do for Valerie.
When Jon was offered a possible cure for Cancer he didn't expect to wake up as a girl, let alone a mermaid.
“Maybe she woke up and found out that some asshole experimented on her and turned her into a mythical creature,” I suggested sarcastically. “Oh, no wait, that’s us.”
I look at my skin which has lost of its elasticity of youth. I think about my long gone missing teeth and the dentures that have taken their place. My lost muscle tone and the tight buttocks that women told me were so attractive have long gone as have most of those women, for few women, never mind men, live to my age. At a hundred and five, despite my good health, and reasonable faculties, I am an old and decrepit man staring death in the face because my heart is finally giving way to time. I have at most three months left, and you can’t imagine how grateful I was to receive that information.
Tinder is made for guys like me. If you feel like sex then you just open up and see what’s about. If you are good looking and athletic, girls will go for that. Free sex. Swipe Right. Some girls talk about relationships, so you let them. Just put on your listening face and nod. Whatever it takes to get them into the sack. “Thank you Ma’am.” Don’t hang around. Leave quick. One of the most enduring urban legends of Benton is that of a supposed tree that is supposed to feed unwary travelers who stray too near to its trunk. The location of the tree is supposed to be a meadow that is located deep within the marsh that surrounds the north side of Benton. Now, though many consider it nothing more than a silly urban legend, something of an old wives' tale, something to keep curious children from exploring the mashes.
