Given the sheer number of Police and Fire Service Vehicles in the street outside my home, there really was nothing for it but to pack a bag and leave my home. I could see that there was even a TV Crew interviewing a couple of residents. The Christmas period is always a bit of a slow news time and anything with a human interest would naturally be news even if it was just some padding to fill the time slot.

“Man, I never realized how expensive it is to live here in Hollywood.” Kelly and Victoria had gone to two properties they were interested in.
The places were nice and had some of what they wanted, but not everything. It didn’t have a pool where they could gather and talk. The garage was too small for Charlie’s truck. Plus, they were asking a lot for it.

“Welcome to my world, Kelly. So, you have a modeling shoot on Thursday?” Victoria looks over towards her friend.

I caught my breath and began unbuttoning myself. Alvin was only watching in brief glances. I stopped when I ran out of buttons, the wind from the open window on Alvin's side making the loose top of my dress flap open and closed.

Having a Full ride scholarship to MIT meant that I was set for the next four years.
All I had to do was keep my grades up, and I’d have a roof over my head and food in my stomach.
At least, I would once I got to Boston.

But the getting there was the problem.
I ended having to Hitchhike into Fort Wayne to meet the Greyhound going east.
And there I was settling into my seat with a whole fifty bucks in my pocket after bus fare.

“At least the phone bank went well,” Tiffany said from across the desk. She was trying to cheer me up; in the past that would have been unusual for her but even I could tell that something was different. She was changing, we all were.

“We raised six thousand dollars,” I said, placing the school paper on the desk. “That’s like, what enough to pay rent for a month at Planned Parenthood? Maybe they could buy a box of bandaids. Has Audrey seen this?”

By dint of juvenile stupidity, Erica's school location is compromised but the trail proves to be a double edged sword insofar as the gang operatives have to expose themselves in order to get at Erica who now proves to be very useful bait for the police.

I knew the moment the steering on my car went funny that I was done for. It was Christmas Eve and in a moment of extreme foolishness, I’d gone out for a drive.

I know what you are thinking. “Silly fool” and worse. It was Christmas and I wanted to be myself for a few hours at least.

By myself, I mean Joanne rather than my given name of John.

Yes indeed, this is the last part of the Weeping Willow saga. I appreciate everyone's patience and forbearance with me. I know that I included various elements that were controversial and not everyone's cup of tea (like God and religion). The Sex chapter (part 19) was nerve wracking for me because I worried it would be clumsy, stilted, tasteless or boring. (I haven't written many sex scenes, especially one that explicit).
