Harry Anderson, best known for playing the judge on the TV show "Night Court" has apparently passed away at age 65.

I loved the show, and it had one of the earliest sympathetic portrayals of a trans person on network television.

I hope he's doing goofy magic tricks in Heaven.

I had a really unusual dream last night. I dreamed that I was back in university, but this time I was Dorothy. Not only that, I had this ... confidence about stuff I dont normally have in real life. Even people who reacted negatively to me were dismissed in my mind except to report them to a university official.

Not sure what that means ...

Just when things looked like they were getting better, I've had a setback, in the form of several bad moments with super high blood pressure over the last couple of days.

I'm seeing my doctor on Tuesday, so here is hoping for an idea on what I can do about it, but not fun ...

Even the very best authors probably have at least one story in their collection that just ... isnt as good. Something between imagining the story and writing it down some factor gets left out, or something that doesnt scan gets added in, and it just ... flops.

So what does an author do?

Well, hopefully, learn from it.

So, as I am in that place with my last story, I'm hoping for some constructive criticism in the hopes that I might get better the next time.

I just wanted to give everybody an update on where I am with my stories:

"Pathfinder": New story being worked on, going slowly, but hasnt stopped yet.

"E-Girl: the Gift" : might have a new chapter, but its coming to a halt.

"Branded": Totally stuck, actually hoping somebody might have a suggestion.

"The secret of MYTH": coming close to totally stuck.

and "By the rivers of Babylon": current chapter is grinding towards a point where I might have a new chapter, but not sure what happens after that.

What's next? Pink triangles?

I went to church today only to find out my pastor just lost her brother in law, and another woman I know in the congregation lost her mother.

I could use some hugs, folks ...

My brother is home from the hospital, but pain in the non-replaced leg is slowing his recovery. Nothing we can do except slog through things ...

Meanwhile, my aunt does have cancer - stage one, apparently, so she's also looking at a long slog before any recovery ...

And me?

Well, other than the fact I've done no writing at all this week, and was sick today to boot, I'm hanging in there.

I promise to be back at writing as soon as my spoons allow ...

Well, I know its been a while since I posted a blog entry here, so let me give you an update:

My aunt went to the hospital, but instead of surgery they did a biopsy, and want her to come back in 3 weeks. So more waiting ...

My brother goes in for his knee operation on Wednesday, trying really hard to not worry ...

My mom's burn on her leg isnt healing very well, in part because she scratched it, delaying her recovery ...

Just got a call from my aunt. She's going in for surgery on Jan 31, for some kind of tumor in her uterus.

Prayers and good wishes appreciated.

the optimist says: Look at the progress we've made. The former Eastern Block is now full of prosperous democratic countries, in fact more countries are freer than ever in history. For LGBT folks, more of us are coming out, and getting support from our family and friends, progress has been made in acknowledging our rights in many countries, and there are positive portrayals of us in the media.

Serious adulting done today. I went and got my oil changed, my air filters changed, and a new wiper blade put on my car, then I went downtown and paid my speeding ticket.

Its not normally the case that i would be celebrating spending close to $ 600, but I feel a lot better about things with those tasks taken care of.

on a day when I needed a pick-me-up, I got three. First, two different people mistook me for my mom when I answered the phone, and then while on a walk with Lady, a nice man said "you two ladies have a nice day".

You gotta celebrate the little victories cause you never know when or even if the big victories will happen.

Thanks to the recent blog on adding pictures to one's stories, which resulted in someone going through the steps in a way even I could understand, I am now adding some pictures to a some of my stories. I'd love feedback on the pictures if you happen to come across them (hint: Help my girlfriend is a unicorn, Mercy, and the E-girl universe have pictures now, as does my most recent story)

As it is supposed to be super cold here the next couple of days, I'm going to stay in as much as possible. I'm just wondering if anybody would like to share their "snow day" activities - the stuff they would do if stuck inside for a day or more?

Assuming I have any people interested in reading my stuff left, I need to give them an apology. Massive stress around here with my mom hurt, my dog struggling, Sharon having troubles, my brother looking at surgery, and he and I getting into an argument over my transition during which he said he never saw anything feminine in me growing up, and doesnt see anything feminine in me now, has all led to me not being in a good state for writing at the moment. So no new Branded, or The gift, or the war/supernatural story I had started on for now, and maybe not for a while.

Some good news, my mom came home from seeing her doctor, and he said she's getting better. No more antibiotic, just keep changing the bandage every day, and she'll recover fully.
