It gave her a warm feeling cooking for her man. She had just got the eggs and bacon out ready to cook when Sam sat down freshly showered holding the letter.

The door burst open and in came Gaz and Foxy with three cases of beer. All three were landed with flamboyance upon the low table by the cabin’s fireplace in front of Yogi, Lonnie and Bull.

“Mommy, every year we go to the beach, and every year I have the best time. It’s like the only time I get to really play with Amy. This year was the best ever. Thanks.”

Sammy’s mom heard her darling child, now nine years old, and spread her arms, and Sammy came rushing to her. The hug was massive and tight, and the love tingled through Sara’s body. She thought how when Sammy was in his boy mode, which was most of the time, he was rough and sullen and nasty to his sister.

Jack said “He just got unlucky; no-one can predict a lightning strike.” I let it hang for a moment and then said “Do you really think that he was just ‘unlucky’ to lose his two houses and get his offices in Whitehall trashed by a power surge. If you believe that then you would believe anything.”

“My my my,” said Paula, “do you ever stop looking?”

“What do you mean? Looking at what?” replied Dave.

“Oh come on now, you have been staring at that woman across the room all night, it’s really embarrassing. I have to watch you, she has clearly noticed, and it’s really so sexist. What’s your excuse this time?

“I haven’t been doing that, I swear,” he said, his voice lowering to almost silence. “Really, I’m telling the truth.”

What happened next? Well before Clay and I could go on our date, I needed to change out of my bathing suit. I mean I could have wrapped a towel around my waist, slipped on a pair of flip-flops and called it all good and ready to go. But that looks only suitable for the beach and not a end of the summer carnival. And going home and getting changed was kind of out of the question. Heck mom and dad had already headed off to find a secluded place of their own. I honestly think mom and dad were trying to rekindle the love of their marriage or something.

Danny always remembered when his sisters went to ballet class. They were so excited, they said, getting to dance all the steps and being able to wear such pretty costumes. But it was also hard work, and they practiced every day, hoping to star in the recitals. And Danny loved to watch them, fascinated by the moves and also loving the ballet costumes, which were so pretty. Plus, the tights were gorgeous.

“Move it, Chloe.” Robyn looks back at her friend as they ran through a grove of walnut trees.

“I’m trying, Robyn. But something doesn’t feel right with me.” Chloe was dressed as Daisy Johnson from Agents of Shield.

The two of them, along with several others had gone to a Halloween party. It was taking place out at an abandoned farmhouse in the countryside. The party was being hosted by a famous online blogger and several respected local bands were playing at it. It was opened to the public.
