Folks, I thank all of you who have had the patience to put up with my long intro. Finally, it looks like the story is going somewhere. Not far, but at least a few questions get answered.

“You can see an object by not looking at it?” Tonya asked a bit confused.
“I’m not sure how it works, my Lady,” Takoda went on. “But in the dark the sides of your vision works better.”
“Is that how Dwarves and Elves see in the dark?” Tonya inquired.
“How it was described to me, was that in the dark,” Takoda tried to describe something he had never experienced, “Dwarves see things in shades of black and white. The closer something is to light or giving off light the brighter it is.” Takoda paused. “I’m not sure how Elves see in the dark. I’ve never befriended one to ask?”

. . . Why aren’t you sleeping with him?” he asked as we shared coffee one morning. It’s quite clear he’s got a huge crush on you. Guys like me wouldn’t even be here, if you just got in bed with him.”

“I’m not gay,” I responded evenly, . . .and I’m married and hope to stay that way.”

“You mean you got yourself a woman who wants you to be a woman too?”

“Well, not exactly.”

. . . Were you two really in the changing room together?"

Their voices became too soft to hear, until I heard Courtney say, "No, not yet. But I bet they will be soon though."

A flippant remark by a mild screenwriter to an obnoxious TV reporter snowballs into more than he had bargained for, at one of the most glamorous of events! (There's no actual TG stuff in this first part, but there will be. I promise.)

. . . Look,” she said, patting the seat next to her so I would move over there. “We always thought you were a little, errr, different. You were always a little effeminate, you loved art, I don’t know. You just weren’t terribly manly.”

. . . What kind of a wife lets her husband turn himself into a woman? Couldn’t you satisfy him?

. . . But it still makes me really uptight to see you kissing a man,” she mumbled.

. . . Then, looking down at my own chest, I realized what they were really looking at. My nipples, the nipples which Rebecca had insisted I glue to my breast forms, now jutted aggressively through my sports bra. They were calling to the men like the Sirens called to the lost sailors in the Odyssey.

. . . He had never turned his personality on like this when I was a man. Now, he was totally engaging: a force of nature, nearly. I knew that if I continued to look into his eyes, he'd melt me, and all I'd want to do was caress his face with my hand, and then pull him down into another kiss. But I just couldn't let that happen. . .

. . . And as long as I was rebelling, I decided to leave my toes, figuring that no one would see them anyway, and I could wait until they chipped to clean them up. At least that's what I told Rebecca. I really thought that once they needed to be redone, I could just switch to another color, and no one would see that either.

…"Honey," she replied. "It's downright sad. I've always thought that there's nothing sadder than a transsexual who's afraid to be who she really is…"

…Not only would my expensive panties stay hidden, but now they were starting to feel like a brand on my ass. It said coward. . .

Chapter III - A Surprise Date

"Don't be mad, sweetie," she replied, offering me my martini. "I told you I would take care of everything. And I think I did. Here you are at a wonderful new restaurant where everyone thinks you're a woman and you haven't spent even one moment thinking about passing, have you?"

She was right - the sneaky bitch. She had swept me along so adroitly that I never did have a chance to worry. "But they think I'm a lesbian," I whispered back, although I had no idea why I said it.

"So? You are, aren't you? A woman who loves a woman?"

. . . . I was just trying to figure out if I had enough clothes for a week. I may have to go shopping."

Rebecca laughed. "Sara, you have more clothes than I do!"

"I do not," I complained.

I opened it up and pulled out an eight by ten-inch photograph - a photograph of me - in full drag. I was dressed to the nines, wearing a bright red spaghetti strap cocktail dress that was made out of tiered layers of chiffon.

Decker counted the cash in his pocket and guessed what he had left on his credit cards. Enough to get to Baja and lie low for a couple of weeks. He would eat crap the Mexs call food, drink some tequila and sleep on the beach. He could get plenty of cheap weed on the street down there. Tourists buy it at a humongous markup.

At the Fernandez farm Leticia leads Sergeant Miller and Deputy Tillman to the shed. And in a few minutes the forensics van will be along. And eventually the feds. It won’t be easy for the Fernandez family Miller thinks. A box of tapes is still there under the pile of feed sacks along with a sealed plastic bag.

“Examining staff feel little would be accomplished by attempting to reverse subject’s current personality trend. Attempts to do so would likely result in psychological and emotional damage to both subject and adoptive mother. In view of the information assembled the study team recommends encouraging the subject’s feminine development."

“Is it illegal for cousins to become involved?” I blushed and felt the tinge of embarrassment shoot down my spine as I took another draw on the cigarette.
“You mean you and George?”
“Eh, well… maybe.” I stammered.
“You're only half cousin’s aren’t you? Well Yeah and no. It’s not illegal. Unusual, but not illegal. You thinking about making a play for George?”

“To tell the truth when I look at you I don’t see a boy,” Jenny remarked as casually as she could. “You’re everything a mother could want in a sweet child. You never get upset when we call you Darlene. Right this minute you’re more of a girl than Della ever was.”

While Darlene slept Jenny sat quietly on the couch for another hour with her eyes closed, then reminded herself of Darlene’s description of Michi. Then she spoke. “Are you there Marlene?” Silence for a time, then a pale version of Darlene in an Orphan Annie dress stood next to the table.
