I’m sitting up a little more and trying to clean my face and get the snuffles from crying out when my mom comes in.

I hurt looking at her. Well sorta looking at her if my head wasn’t hanging down so low.

She looks tired, like scared, hurt, worried and stressed out with no sleep tired.

My heart does a little hurting mewl because she doesn’t deserve that, not after everything she’s been through.

See, mom’s a breast cancer survivor.

Surprise! Just when you thought it was safe...

Anyway, this little blurb has been in the back of my mind and hard drive for months, I debated releasing it...but what the heck, I'm a bit of a story purist, and Min is getting kind of loud again.

So here it is, standard disclaimers apply and all that.

CHAPTER 1
“For Christ’s sake, Siá¢n, we’ll not get there in time! She’s going to be on her own!”

“Yeah, but she’ll have Arris there, aye?”

“Yes, but this is make or break time, na?”

I first ran away from home when I was 10 years old, my mom had left two years earlier because of abuse from my dad. The first time I ran away, I was caught and two weeks later, I was returned home. The last time I changed my name and I ran away into New York City... I became what we called a street rat; living on and under the streets...

Chapter six...let's see how this goes. Standard disclaimers apply of course. I would love all sorts of comments and criticism this time too,and so would the evil overlords that rule in the dark corners and bowers of man's domain. (get where I stole that line from right for internet rewards.)

As promised, the next chapter. My muse is no longer pouting and we had a nice conversation going! You all saved many cute, fuzzy, imaginary animals from a fate worse than death with your comments. I'm sure they all would not have liked being petted for hours.
