for the last time! Well for now, i shall be back.

Its been quite an eventful month, one that i'd rather not repeat although there have been some good days, but on Friday i will be back on a bus to Brizzle. Things with father have settled down, his time in the convalescent home will depend on the physio so there is no necessity for me to stay longer, my brother should be about for visiting purposes from Friday. The other thing delaying my return south has been my back, its not right yet but i should manage the journey without too much discomfort by travel time.

So this is summer!

Okay, so strictly speaking its still spring but with blue skies and long days it feels like summer.

Yep, the weather continues to stay quite warm and sunny and the forecast is for more of the same for the next week as we head to the Spring Bank Holiday weekend.

Highs & lows

Just a quickly from Luebben

I’ve not got very good internet so I’m posting this from a backhand in the town while I have breakfast! I’ll do a better missive when I get back.

Fist the lows, we’ll the German unions, a strike on the trains nearly put the Kenosha on the trips reason d’etre on Friday and another strike by security at the airport means my return trip has been delayed by a day and now involves a lay over in Paris!

On the plus side, I had a god visit to Berlin, I did pretty much what I planned apart from getting sore feet on Thursday from an 18km walk!

Or summat like that!

So here I am on day 3 of my German adventure.

Monday was of course all about getting here, everything worked and by 6pm I was in my hotel. I don’t know why I was so anxious beforehand the only delay was morning traffic in Bristol!

I got my bike for the week Tuesday morning and duly set out for my first ever bike ride in Berlin. It takes a little while to get used to a different bike, by the time I’d done a couple of laps of Tempelhofer field I was just settling in nicely. However sod came along in the form of a broken spoke on the front wheel.
