OT: Movie review. The Avengers.

Well, at long last, the movie I have been waiting for since I heard it was going to BE a movie, came out for rental today. The Avengers! I have to say, in all honesty, that it not only lived up to it's hype, but surpassed even my high expectations. To see, on the screen, the heroes I grew up reading about in the "comic books" and witness the incredible effects and acting displayed by the cast, just blew me away.

I just saw a commercial for the show 2 Broke Girls (I never heard of the show). The commercial caught my attention with the phrase "lesbian Justin Beiber." It went on with a character saying "I have a secret." The responses are "You are a woman trapped in a man's body" and "You are a little boy trapped in a little girl's body."

Here is the IMDb page of the actor with a secret. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3211555/

Just finished the season finale. I don't want to spoil it for anyone, but would love to dish about the finale and what it portends for next season. Are there any other fans? I figure a day or two before it would be okay to post what happened, and give fans a chance to watch it. :)

Just finished watching "Boys Over Flowers".

Who else is as crazy about Korean Drama's as I am or just Asian Drama's in general?

Good, sometimes great stories with solid soundtracks easily. Very little overacting most of the time and the stories actually end! :D

Blade Runner, The Final Cut

I just watched the last approx. 50 min. of Blade Runner, The Final Cut (2007), which I'd not seen before. I thought it was much longer the the original US theatrical version, but I looked it up; it's only one minute longer, 117 min. vs 116 min.

In the last part of the film, everything was happening more slowly and dramatically. The ending, with Deckard (Ford) and Rachael (Sean Young) driving north on the Pacific Coast Highway, was cut. There may have been other scene missing to give more time to the slower action.

We had a late business lunch with this movie/TV personality & print model yesterday, at a very, very upscale (not to mention expensive) out-of-the-way little restaurant in one of the five-star hotels in the main business district.   She was a very sweet and friendly girl, and had a big fund of funny stories to tell and had most of us giggling and laughing, much to the consternation of her personal assistant, since we were starting to bother the nearby tables.

But what really got us to pay attention was that she was drop-dead gorgeous. As in REALLY drop-dead gorgeous.

Was I jealous? Nahhh...

New BBC2 Series - Divine Women.

Historian Bettany Hughes relates the story of the contribution of women to the origins of religion and spirtual beliefs before they were written out of history by a male dominated society. Part one has the intriguing title, 'When God was a girl.' Starts tonight at 9.00pm BST.

Wednesday was a regular workday here in Manila, but it was the day before the start of a four-day weekend. Most everyone wanted to go home to their hometowns, so there's usually a massive exodus of people from Metro Manila going towards various other places in the country.

Adam Sandler's latest movie

The movie gets panned, deservedly so, a drag queen without the refinements? Does anything go in comedy, or just women? Some do it better, some worse.
