For many stunts, a guy may able to take the abuse of the stunt better than a woman. Other times depending on the stunt and availability of doubles, it may be that only a particular guy has the training to do the stunt.

Usually the stunts involved do not include closeups, or views of the face at as close a range as the photo in the article.

I know of one time about the opposite situation, a woman doing the stunts for an early teen male actor, because again she had the training and was available. This was in a play I worked on as stage manager.The lighting was deliberately not all that good and apparently nobody in the audience the first night caught on until he and she came out for the final curtain call. It made the papers the next day, though.

This was in 1961 in a children's theater production of Peter Pan. The male actor was good, but did not want to fly suspended by wire, so she did it, landing behind a prop tree as he walked out from behind it to continue the scene. Also in the opening scene where Peter flies to the window, she landed behind the edge of the window, so that he could step into view and through the window.

The stunt double was 26, the oldest person in the cast, as the rest of the actors and actresses were 15 or less.

The program listed her and a male stunt double, but did not say who was being doubled for, or by which double. That is pretty much the way movie credits are done too.All of the stunt doubles are usually lumped into one block

Jennifer Lopez. First of all, not only is his build larger than Jennifer Lopez's but his hair is darker, and his face is longer and more masculine looking. I really think she could have done better if she had wanted a "male" stunt double for her video.
