CHAPTER 2
“Turret left! Range five hundred! Got him, Ginge?”

“Aye…”

The Cromwell rocked as the breech flew back.

“Nice one, lad. You’ve got the eye for this, all right. Driver, sharp left here”

We rolled forward, rising slightly as we went over the dead horse, and I tried not to listen as the port track slipped just a little in the mess. Something struck the front of the hull; rifle round, probably. I was tired beyond anything I had ever felt.

CHAPTER 1
We weren’t there in the first wave, thank god. We had sat offshore in an LCT for hours while things the size of an Austin 7 flew over our heads to burst inland, and I was more than happy to keep well away from either end of their flight. The lads at the other end had been having a closer view for more than twenty-four hours, while we had waited and fretted.

CHAPTER 21
Work was a bit of a shock after the weekend. We had a couple of domestics that turned nasty, and that really brought a few things home to me. We had a remarkably strong family, all things considered, and clearly Tony’s much smaller one was just as strong. Enid in particular was someone I decided never to get on the wrong side of, which raised another thought: I was making so many assumptions about her son and my sister, particularly about the permanence of their new arrangement.

A NOTE REGARDING THIS STORY.

This is a fictional chronicle of a normal hardworking guy named Jack. The federal government made him an offer he couldn't refuse. All they asked was for Jack to go undercover to help the U.S. Government ensnare a terrorist.

CHAPTER ONE

“You’re a freaking freak! Say it! Say you’re a freak! SAY IT!” Gus yanked my left arm, causing me to drop my schoolbooks.

(Miriam is back trying to understand and help her 10 year old son in the small West Virginia town where she lives in 1955. Follow Miri as she tries to cope with Jack and with her conflicting emotions of fear, anguish and love.)

There appears to be a stow-away within USS Detroit’s crew. After returning Sand Dollar to 1944, Alex mysteriously collapses. Finding herself back in 1942 and in someone else’s body, can she maintain the timeline as she remembers it or will things spiral into nightmare? Monday dawned grey and cold. I looked out of my Hotel window at the myriad of people scurrying off to work and felt more than a few pangs of regret that I wasn’t amongst them. My daydreaming was abruptly ended by my phone bleeping.

‘Get some sleep? No matter if you didn’t. Rent a car and drive west along the M4. Leave your hotel by 10am. I will be watching you. Don’t speak to anyone especially the police.’
