Chapter Fourteen: Party!

*Welcome to the world of the conscious, sleepyhead,* Cindy sent to me just as I was climbing out of sweet slumber.

*I'm not conscious yet,* I sent back with a telepathic yawn.

*Just be happy that we have suspended the usual rules for early crashers at a slumber party.*

*I appreciate it,* I said, *but technically, I crashed before the party, not during.*

Caitlin is nervous about getting found out at the slumber party. She talks it over with Meredith and Rebecca, finally finding a way to better understand herself. But does she have it down enough in time for the party?

Here is a special chapter, since I am going on vacation starting Saturday. I hope you all enjoy it.

Chapter 2
The sound of the rooster came a little too early for Charlie.

He eased between Samuel and Eli on the bed. He tried not to wake them, but he saw little Eli’s eyes open. He kissed his brother on the forehead.

“Go back to sleep,” he whispered.

He quietly got dressed. He looked over and saw Lucas and Robert. They were sound asleep.

"Gordon!"

"That you Gordon?"

"Hey Gordon!"

Melissa growled as she rushed down the hallway towards the school's rear- and mostly unused- exit.

Why had she agreed to do this again? 'Great prank,' he said. 'Lots of fun,' he said. 'Twenty bucks,' he said. Oh, the joys of having a twin.

The potato was delish, with oodles of tuna–so my mercury levels should be up to scratch, and the salad garnish was excellent; almost equivalent to a side salad. I washed it down with a ginger beer, which woke me up.

This story is set in the 1800s. It is the story of a woman of privilege who forms a relationship with a poor child of Irish immigrants. It is a story of a woman who overcomes grief of the loss of a child. It is a story of a child who sacrifices for family and embraces and falls in love with a new identity.
