Ostracized by family and many friends, Melissa Sterling finds herself on the cold, lonely streets. Being transgendered, not many opportunities present themselves and too many people are overtly discriminatory. Like her family, the state safety net has abandoned her with no income and no health care. A modern American tragedy. In her own mind, she can't seem to catch a break and life doesn't seem worth living. That is, until fate seems to have another plan in place.

In this installment, by way of a leak every news organization in the country learns that there is now a case of HTV in the United States. Melissa's transformation is in full swing and coming to a head. Plus, she gets a special visitor.

My gut feeling is to write Drustan up as intersexed insofar as he/she turns out to be a bilateral hermaphrodite.

We weren’t all that far away from our rooms to the practice courts but by the time that I walked back with Shaya helping me, I was limping and my arms burned, my wrists were killing me and my shoulders were screaming at me.

I hate to say it but even here in this place I was just too tired to enjoy all the new stuff. I was hurting, achingly tired and getting really yucky and sweaty. This wasn’t y’know girly perspiration this was me sweating really badly.

Lost in the middle of a foggy sea

Hanging the last of the clothing on the rack, I return to see what assistance I may to Tanner and Irina who have been disassembling everything and gradually moving it over to the RV. Going over, I begin to place some of the lighter items into their places on the shelves, plugging them into the power strips as I go.

My eyelids flutter open and I inhale this wonderful combination of scent’s old straw, fresh hay, clover and the smell of sex. Shaun and I had just made love and I’ve never felt like thing in my life. Once again I’ve had my nightmares although this time was considerably different. The bullies came to pound me and I pulled out the same little pistol I had used when we practiced. I don’t really remember much of the trip out of Alberta and back through the mountains and home to Bridgeview. Brandon drove while I slept snuggled up against him. We got into it over Steve’s bigoted girlfriend, or well now ex-girlfriend, it was one of those turf kinda brawls like you might see in the movies.
