It was my first teaching job. A southern high school. Quite a cultural shock for a Boston girl.
At the end of the first week one boy looked absolutely miserable. I gently tried to find out why.
It turned out he wanted to be in the school’s beauty contest but was rejected. I was appalled. One, because the place was so retrograde it had a beauty contest and, two, the sex discrimination.
“You were rejected because you are a boy?” Actually, he was VERY cute in a girlish way.
“No. That’s not why. Amateurs only. No professional models.”

I felt that lately my stories had become too verbose
so I wanted to see if I could write a story like the ones I posted here once upon a time.
Discipline
It's good discipline, for sure. When I finished Aria (which is something like 210,000 words), I decided I needed to practice getting more out of fewer words, so I decided to write a bunch of short stories. Of course, I'd only finished a couple before I got the idea for Maximum Warp, which was a lotta things all at once, but none of them were short. I keep practicing, though . . . .

Discipline
Funny you should use that word. Just after writing this "story" I got the idea for another where discipline, or rather a disciplinarian, is central.
210 000. Ha! I have written more (well, if you add them ALL up).
No professional models?
Makes you wonder what he models?
The implication is
that he models girls' clothing.
This is based on his looks and the fact that he was disqualified.
Short Time Line
There have been male models for women's attire. Without out surgery is very short, a few years. The physic to hold female form inside women's clothes is fleeting.
Hugs Bru, now about the mauve sleeveless dress you wore to the antique motorcycle museum. What kind of secrets could possibly be shared in a museum? OH..., I mean I want to borrow the dress.

Life is a gift, treasure it until it's time to return it to the one who gave to you..

As always
I'm just barely keeping within what is possible.
As for the mauve sleevlelss (actually cap sleeve) dress I will not part with it. I use it practically daily (I'm not joking this time. I've even voted wearing it)
Short Time Line
Hugs Bru, i'll swap with you for a change of attire. A denim mini skirt? A tan suede floor length skirt with a silk blouse pearl buttons? A black satin, double breasted jump suit? A...? Surely there is something you are willing to trade for a short time to enlarge the closet for a little while? How about a 1920s leather coat with full fur sleeve cuffs and a fur collar?

thanks, Bru
thanks for the giggles, Bru
I needed it today. Huggles!
Ahhh, the short shorts
Liked this. Actually reminded me of a book on my shelf; The Best Short Shorts, edited by Eric Berger. I read it as a youth and reread it, or pieces of it periodically. I am still fascinated how a complete story can be told in so few words. You, my dear friend Bru, are right up there. Well done.
