I'm a small kid. I couldn't help it, it was how I was born! On top of that, I was 11 and hadn't hit puberty yet. I hated to admit it, but I really looked like a girl. In fact, you could probably call me a girl. I only had long blond hair about 2 inches down my shoulders, I only had one friend, who was a girl, and I had only girl family. My father died in a car crash while my mom was pregnant with me. In his honor, I was named after him. Salem. But that's beside the point. I need to get to the story.

Terry Wait now lives as Terri with her Aunt, at least for now. She is having fun living as a girl for now and things seem to be going better on the home front. Working with his Aunt and her pageant girls is helping Terri to forget her problems, or at least to move them to the back burner for now.

Monday

Janie Lewis and I were the best of friends ever since the first day of Preschool and we did everything together. So many times we would hear people say "Those two are almost like conjoined twins" It seemed like it too. Our mothers would have to promise that we would get to go to each others houses the next day to ever get us to go home. I would play with her toys when I was at her house and she played with mine when she was at mine. I always wondered why my toys weren't the same things Janie had, but I was afraid to ask.

It was Monday and I was sitting in class and sweating in my hot, woolen pants.

As Samantha walked in to the dinning room there in front of her were the twenty boys and girls that were at the party. All the children were dressed in what they were wearing for the party. All the children including Samantha were told to sit down at the places that were marked for them.

“I don't believe it. The boy actually managed to do it. I spent four weeks trying to do what he did his first time.” Lanzerus laughed coldly to himself. “Dear Lord you have just granted me one the greatest gifts you could have given me. Now if only I could get a hold of that sword. Wicked Point? Corrupt spike? I shouldn't have burned that book back in that dungeon.” Lanzerus said half disappointed with himself.

Peace Assessor Epsilon Tau stood with his back against a big rock, trembling. He needed to calm down. Taking a slow deep breath, he asked for the blessing of the Atom Heart Mother and reached out with his senses, connecting. He could feel the solidness of the house-size boulder behind him. The shape of it where it extended below the ground. The soil around it, a tumult of microscopic life and death and new birth .......... Beneath that he could feel the planet's brittle crust---mere kilometers thick---and then the horribly liquid mantle and core beneath...

This exercise would have quickly soothed his soul back at home, but here it just made him aware of how horribly alien this planet was. Green trees. A yellow sun in a blue sky…
