It was a warm summery morning on the Gold Coast. The seagulls were squawking, a light offshore breeze blew and a building swell promised epic tubes in the afternoon. In the penthouse apartment she shared with her two elder sisters, Samaya and Nikita, Nik’s baby Elody and Nik’s handsome boyfriend, Marcus (they called him Marcus Aurelius because he was like a Roman general guarding them from the outside world), little Jane found herself alone. Samaya - they liked to call her Princess Samaya because she was so drop-dead gorgeous - was already out on the waves.

A mob hit man, who decides to go straight, is the intended victim of a hit. The hit goes wrong, and an innocent girl is badly injured by mistake. He feels guilty — if he hadn't been where he was, she wouldn't be in a coma in the hospital. He ducks another hit attempt, and finds himself in Madam Zelda's shop. She gives him a medallion to protect the girl's life. When he's attacked again, the power of the medallion works, and he wakes up.

This story is dedicate to a friend, Light of Fury. She's not writing, but she was keeping in touch, until she got some new adventure / distraction. I enjoyed working with her on a wide variety of stories, and conversing off and on. She made me think about my preconceived notions. (For an old fart, Pink isn't a bad singer!) I miss her, and wish her peace on whatever she does.

Note: There are some theological references to Heaven and Hell (mostly Heaven) in this story. There is also some reference to the Catholic faith, because a church plays a vital part of the story, and the girl's family isn't Catholic. If you're offended, I apologize. It's just a story. I hope you enjoy it. Also please note that 'conversations' with Tina are all italicized in an attempt to make them more distictive; otherwise, it could get confusion. Stanley Morton was part of Big Closet for many years. He felt a special link to several of my characters from the California Saga. It was obvious from his comments that Musetta's life and death profoundly affected him. He also had many nice things to say about several of the characters in The Cynthia Chronicles. Against my better judgment, I brought these characters together for my final farewell to Stan. Is this a tribute? I'll leave that up to you to decide.

Several other stories use French as a theme, but I note that very few authors master the rules of French grammar which is not gender neutral. My recommendation is that you read through at least the first time without looking up the footnotes, as they are only for those that get curious about the details. If you are French you do not need the footnotes at all (maybe when I try to be very phonetic) , and If you know nothing of French the information is probably a waste of time to read them. The pseudo-phonetic parts are rendered in italics, and without translation, just like you would experience if you were the victim..

This is a continuation of a story found in Bedtime Story and continued in A Bedtime Story - Part 2. Each part is intended to be able to stand alone, though reading them in sequence may make things easier. I hope you are able to enjoy this continuation of the adventures of this family.

What came before:
Lisa caught her little brother dressing in mommy's slip and some high heels. She convinced him to put them back and then agreed with him that they would have some special time together while mom and dad were out. This happened regularly over the next year or so. She explained this to her sibling. Details can be found in parts 1 and 2, but beyond what's described above it isn't critical to this story..
