Leetha Blood Thorn looks around the room she had been given in the hotel Mr. Blackstone had driven them too. The woman that she had saved was taken to a nearby hospital. She reaches into her pouch and pull out her armor and sword stand. The room was better then most Inn’s she has stayed in. She did like she had running water and electricity, instead of candles. Her mother Leetha had told her stories about places like this. Her mother and father have traveled to different dimensions and different times during their long life.
She slips out of her armor and put it on the stand. Mr. Blackstone had said that swords like hers weren’t permitted on a person. She takes her sword off, but she would carry her daggers with her. She pulls a pair of leather pants, boots and a nice plain silk blouse out of her backpack.
Her cloak covered her armor and sword.
Cleo, Luna, Joanna and Trinity room:
Cleo was tending to Luna as she watched her sleep. She glances over to the bed where Trinity was sound asleep. Trinity had passed out as soon as they got her in the SUV.
“How is she, Cleo?” Joanna looks over towards Luna as she slept on one of the pillows from the bed.
“She’s breathing and is a little bruised, other than that. She is going to be okay.” Cleo covers her up with a scarf from her purse.
She walks over to the connecting door to Mr. Blackstone room and knock on it.
Mr. Blackstone and Ralph room:
Mr. Blackstone was sitting at the desk in the his and Ralph’s hotel room inputting the information they had so far. According to Leetha Blood Thorn, she had arrived a few days ago during a bad thunderstorm. She said that where she had been on her world, a dimensional rift had opened and pulled her through. When she woke-up, she had been lying on the ground face first with rain coming down hard. She had slowly gotten up off the ground and made her way to the house.
The lady of the house had opened the door for her and took her in. Several days had gone by and two guys in black suits showed up. Their suits were just like the one Mr. Blackstone had worn, when he had come to the house asking about the necklace. They said that they wanted the necklace she owned. After that, everything was a blank. All she knew that happened was the house exploding around them. She had covered the lady with her cloak and protected her.
Mr. Blackstone looks at the statement he just got finish typing.
Ralph was busy cleaning some equipment. When he hears someone knocking on the door that separated their room from the other room where Luna, Cleo, Trinity and Joanna were staying. He knew Leetha was on the other side of them and next to her were their pilots.
“Enter!” Ralph puts the cleaning chemicals away.
Cleo enters, followed by Joanna. Both ladies had changed out of what they had on previously.
Mr. Blackstone looks up when they walk in “how are they?”
“Trinity is completely out of it and Luna is still unconscious. She must have gotten hit by the edge of the blast.” Cleo was worried about Luna.
Joanna looks at the other door “how is our guest doing?”
“I’m doing fine, thank you.” The door opens as Leetha comes walking into Mr. Blackstone’s room.
Leetha had heard Joanna’s question through the door with her hearing. Even if this was her first time here in this dimension. She wasn’t like a fish out of water.
Joanna was surprised she heard her.
“How?” She was curious.
“My ears.” Leetha sweeps her hair aside for Joanna to see.
“May I?” Joanna wanted to touch them.
“Sure.” Leetha holds her hair back.
Joanna walks over and takes a snap shot of her ear. She runs her fingers along the outside of Leetha’s ear.
“What is your hearing range?” Joanna wanted to know.
“I can hear pretty far and in ranges you humans can’t hear.” Leetha wonder why Mr. Blackstone wanted her here.
“Ms. Blood Thorn, can you describe what those men look like?” Mr. Blackstone was curious.
“I can do better then that.” She touches her amulet and a 3-dimensional image appear of them.
“How are you do that?” Cleo was curious, just like Ralph was.
“My amulet is magical. I can pull any image from my memory and show you an image of it. I’m not a sorceress or a witch. So, I have to rely on
magically enchanted items.” Leetha makes the image disappear after Ralph and Mr. Blackstone take a picture of it.
Ralph looks at Mr. Blackstone “do you know who they are, sir?”
Mr. Blackstone had a worried look on his face. He knew who they were and why they would want the necklace.
“They are Ordo Templi Orientis. They follow the teachings and beliefs of Aleister Crowley and follow a manifesto called the Mysteria Mystica
Maxima. They go around collecting magical and mythical artifacts. I’ve ran into them a few times and they have tried to retrieve some of the magical items I have back at the office.” Mr. Blackstone has had a few run-ins with them.
“So, why would they want with this necklace? What is so, special about it?” Leetha looks at Mr. Blackstone for an answer.
“Under the right conditions, the necklace can grant a longer life to the wearer.”
“So, what conditions does it need to be to benefit from its magical nature?” Leetha and everyone was curious.
“It attracts lighting and once the lighting strikes it, it will impart the weird energies it has into your body and let you age slowly.” Mr. Blackstone had figured out how it had worked from the clues he heard about it from the lady who had owned it.
“Wait a minute, to benefit from the special properties of the necklace. You must get struck by lightning? That doesn’t make sense. There has to
be another way of using it.” Leetha has never heard of anything so ridicules or dangerous.
“That’s what we have discovered so far.” Mr. Blackstone and his group all look towards Leetha as she stood near him.
“Magical artifacts don’t work like that. Well, most don’t act like that unless it requires some sort of sacrifice.”
“What do you mean by some sort of sacrifice?” Cleo and Joanna were curious.
“Some artifacts or magical items require something in return for the use of their magical energies to use. Like, in some cases your life force or
the death of a love one. Sometimes, it could be slowly killing you in return for the use of the magical energies or permeant attachment to you.” Leetha has seen some nasty items.
“Why would any one do something like that?” Cleo couldn’t believe someone do that on purposes.
Mr. Blackstone looks at Cleo “because some people feel you should pay for power.”
“So, is there a kitchen and dining room here at this Inn?” Leetha was feeling hungry.
“Yes, its down stairs.” Mr. Blackstone had reserved a private table for them.
“How about Luna and Trinity?” Cleo and Joanna were concern about them.
“If Luna is a true pixie, just give her some honey and she’ll be energized. As for Trinity. She’ll need food and rest to restore her energies. The
magical energies in this dimension are weak.” Leetha knew a few mages that would have a hard time casting spells.
Mr. Blackstone escorts everyone down to the restaurant. He notices that when Leetha walks in, all male eyes are looking at her. Even some of the women in there were checking her out. They head to the table reserve for them and order their food from the menu.
