Conference Room 5A, Blake Industries, Mountain Complex:
Patricia, Sara, Sasha, Ivy, Jake, Cindy, Beverly & Wendy, Commander Jake Williams, Billy, Tammy, and Sara all sat at a rectangular solid oak table. All of them had either tablets or laptops sitting in front of them. A silver computerized beach ball-sized ball floated near the front of the table where a woman with blonde hair wearing a pair of black wraps-around glasses stood. Another identical woman who looked just like the first one, without the black glasses stood near her, on her right-hand side.

“Good morning and thank you for coming. Some of you already know me and my sister. But, for those who don’t know me, allow me to introduce myself. I am Jeanet Blake, head of Blake Industries. Sitting to the right of me is my twin sister, Janette Wolfhart, head of Wolfhart Industries. I’ve invited a specialist from Technological Advancement.” Janet looks over towards Sara, Piper, and Tammy when she says that.

“Mom, who are they?” Sara M was curious because she hadn’t met them or knew anything about them.

“That would be us.” Billy looks towards the young blonde-haired woman sitting across from her.

Sara M looks at the dark-haired woman, the dirty-haired woman, and the woman who just spoke. She wonders why they were invited to this meeting. She didn’t know anything about them.

Sasha was sitting quietly watching everyone at the table. Most of the people she knew, but the three that had been invited, she didn’t know.

Jake looks at the three women “Who do you three work for and what does your organization specialize in?”

Jake tried to do a background check on them, but could only get basic information about them. That had thrown up a lot of red flags.

“We’re a separate branch of The Chaos Organization and we specialize in unique investigations. My partners and I have unique abilities & skills.”
Billy was informed by Jack not to reveal too much about what they did for him.

Sasha had already done her investigation into the organization and from what she learned, they were connected to a powerful person. She knew Sara, the black hair girl from her street performances. The blonde-haired woman speaking, worked as a forensic specialist, but the other woman, she had no idea what she did.

Billy sits down and looks towards Ms. Blake. The organization Jack established for them had been contacted by Mrs. Wolfhart. She knew what they had been doing in California.

“The reason I have invited everyone here is because a new substance or organization has been experimenting on people. I don’t mean with the blue lace drug either. A new substance has been introduced that unlocks the dormant gene in most people that gives them super abilities. Also, from what I learned yesterday from several humans who ordered costumes online from a unique website. They become the character they order costume of.”

“Excuse me, but are you talking about those cartoon characters from Loonatics Unleashed?” Sara loved that cartoon.

“Yes, also about a cosplay person who ordered a costume of a superhero called Squirrel Girl as well.” Janet had the pleasure of meeting the young lady. She knew the young woman didn’t mind her conducting all the tests she did.

“We came across a substance that a government contractor was making that gives people abilities. I was exposed to it and it gave me powers.” Tammy looks at Ms. Blake.

“Do you have any of this substance with you?” Janette Wolfhart was curious about it.

“Yes, I brought a sample with me for you to test.” Tammy pulls the vial out of a metal box.

Inside the vial was a yellow crystal power that filled half of the test tube. She noticed that everyone’s attention was on her as she held the vial.

“What happened to the company that made that stuff? And do you mind if I take a look at it?” Janette was curious.

“The company that made it, had a complete computer breakdown. We made sure the company couldn’t recreate the substance.” Tammy passes the vial to Mrs. Wolfhart.

Janette accepts it and shakes it. The substance was in a crystal form. She looks towards Tammy “Do you know how long the effects last?”

“It was permanent for me and Sara here. As for everyone else, who was exposed to it. It varies with the person. It seemed that me and Sara here have a special gene in our genetics that you describe that was unlocked.”

Janette looks towards her sister “Remember how Robyn was exposed? It unlocked her abilities.”

Jake looks towards Ms. Blake “Does this have something to do with what happened at the vineyard, Ms. Blake?”

“Yes, it does, Jake. All the people your security team captured were exposed to a special gas that gave them their ability. Some of them carried the metahuman gene and the ones who didn’t. Their DNA was mutated by the gas so they would have the ability.”

“So, that substance isn’t the only form the substance comes in?” Billy was making notes to add their database.

“No, but it is the most common.” Mrs. Wolfhart knew Robyn and a few other agents of hers had been exposed to the crystal or powdered form of the drug.

“So, now we have to worry about people with super-powered abilities. Is there anything we can do about it?” Cindy looks at her mother when she asks that question.

“Something is already in the works.” Patricia knew her team of girls was still in the hospital recovering from whatever they were exposed to down in Brazil.

Sara M looks over towards Patricia “How is your team, Pat?”

“They are still unconscious, but your mother thinks they will recover quickly.” Patricia knew there was more, but didn’t want to say anything.

Sara, Billy, and Tammy look at the others and wonder if they are related to each other. This was something they needed to add to their files and report to Jack.

“How about the armor the intruders were wearing? Who created it?” Jake wanted to know that.

“Unfortunately, there was no way to trace who made the armor. Most of it was of similar design that Russia designed but with modifications unique to the wearer of the suit.”

“You mean how they were able to squeeze through similar armor and damage the person wearing it?” Wendy’s leg was still recovering from the surgery her wife had to do to reconstruct her bones.

“Yes, here’s what we know so far.” Janet nods towards Patricia to give them the information.

After the conference, everyone is treated to a specially cooked meal by the mountain’s complex chief. Sara, Billy, and Tammy mingle with the other people.

Sara and Cindy were pulled aside to speak with their mother and aunt. Sara informs her mother that twenty girls from the vineyard are scheduled to leave. Housing and jobs had been found for them.

Sara, Billy, and Tammy were talking with Mrs. Wolfhart and her twin sister about who they worked for. Ms. Blake and Mrs. Wolfhart wanted to know more about the substance they found and how they acquired it.
