Just to let you all know that I will be on holiday for one week from Saturday; so I won't be doing any more Orphan until I get back. (Hooray I hear you shout).
I am going to The Peak District. It's going to be such fun; me, the wife and neurotic dog in a caravan up the side of a Peak. The weather forecast stinks and I don't know why we do it. I love the great outdoors, but not from the inside of a steamed up caravan when its p*****g down outside.
Never mind, they say a change is as good as a rest. I'm not sure of that, but still at least there is a pub down the road that takes dogs- not sure about humans though, but I'll find out soon enough.
Hugs
Sue

Oddly
I'm reading a mystery set in the Peak District right now. It's called, "Dancing with the Virgins" referring to the Nine Virgins mini-stonehenge there. Probably not a great time of year to go hiking across a moor to see them, though. I think I've onky heard of the Peak District once or twice before in my life and here, twice in one week.

Gore-Texâ„¢ is the answer
A Gore-Tex rain jacket is all you need. Well, that, some nylon quick-dry trousers, wool socks, and polypro underwear (because wool's too scratchy for that). Take it from a long-time Seattle resident in love with the Great Outdoors. We don't let a little rain stop us from getting out because if we did we'd all go stir crazy and kill each other. Nothing beats Gore-Tex for keeping the rain off you while not drenching you in perspiration from the inside. Most synthetics dry quickly, and wool is the only fiber that will keep you warm even when soaking wet. Whatever you do avoid cotton - it's highly absorbent and worse than useless when wet.
Umbrellas? We don't need no stinking umbrellas! That's how you spot the tourists.
Hope you enjoy your holiday, rain or shine!
Have a good hol Sue,
Hope the weather doesn't make you feel too peaky! Lovely place in the right weather, oops!
The consolation is that by the time you return I'll have written another dozen episodes of your favourite soap!
