I can't sleep. And I'm feeling blue tonight, perhaps appropriate for a... Well, I don't really know my status is now, given my current... situation. Our parish priest back home hasn't said, one way or another. I'd like to think he did that for me, but I don't really know.

Last week, my doctor decided to change the prescription for my daily meds. No big deal, really. My new meds are exactly like the old ones. In fact, the only reason he changed it was because the new kind is cheaper. (My doc's a nice guy. :)

There are so many things wrong in this world, and recently, there have been many that have gone wrong with the world that have personally touched me. I won't delve into the specifics of what these are - I don't want to wallow in them, as tempting as that may be (I'm tryin' to be a tough girl, heehee). But truth of the matter is - I'm over most of them, and, right now, there is little that is wrong - at least nothing majorly wrong, that is - in my life. Just the usual day-to-day minutiae of life. For now, that is.

I know most of you know this, but It's new to me. And I hope you guys don't mind if I regale you with what I just found out, even if you know all about it already. I just find it fascinating.

It's about vinyl records. I knew about vinyl records. We had a record player at home. And I knew what an LP was. But I didn't know what the acronym stood for. Sorry 'bout being so clueless...

Heard anything about Crystal's?

Woke up too early, and now I can't get back to sleep. Not worried though as I called my boss last night that I won't be coming in today regardless of the weather. Now I can veg out the whole day today an recuperate...

Anyway, I heard from some folks at FM that Crystal's site has been down for a couple of days now. I tried accessing it and I get a "Bad Request (Invalid Hostname)" error, which as far as I know is a hard error. Hope everything's ok over there.

Anyone heard anything?

Hi, everyone.

I apologize for being away - I just had a free moment now and took a look at my email, as well as PMs in the site, and I apologize to everyone who were looking for me, and new installments of Danny and my other stories.

I have been having a lot of family and job-related problems lately: A sibling had an untimely stroke even though she's still very young, and we're having to take care of her now. Anyway, hopefully, with therapy, she'll be ok. Also - I just quit from my job. Not to worry, though, I am starting with a new job this January.

In response to Fleurie's and others' requests, the first publication of Danny Fairchild Publications will be coming out this Saturday evening (hopefully).

It is near 11PM already, and I am still online here on Topshelf. And this is despite the fact that my internet connection at home is kaput at the moment (chalk it up to a drunk driver, a very old Ford and old phone poles. Looong story), that I have an early meeting tomorrow and I need to get some shuteye, and I haven't written my monthly report yet...

And here I am at a coffee place around the corner, having a verrry large caramel frappe and connecting to Topshelf via their wifi connection. (To be fair, though, it's a pretty good caramel frappe, and the biscotti ain't bad.)

Just finished Skin Horse

Well. Just finished reading Skin Horse, from the beginning to the very latest panel, and all in one sitting, too. Can't believe I did that.

Well, what can I say. Seems I gots a new fav'rite comic!

How can you go wrong with a crossdressing psychologist that got turned into a werewolf, a warfreak zombie who chomps on brains, a talking dog named Sweetheart, a wind-up mechanical receptionist, a self-aware swarm of bees, a helicopter with a human brain implanted in it and so many others.

Plus a Doonesbury-esque sense of story and humor.

Ghosts in the library. A fairly common story for Halloween . Telling such stories, especially around a campfire at night, is fun. Heck, it’s almost a tradition — a ghostly figure that you see from the corner of your eye as you work on your homework in the library, eerie sounds, unexplained movements like doors closing or chairs moving et cetera. Old hat. Hackneyed, even. Thing is, I was the one who saw them, experienced them. It might even have been okay if that was all, and if they just happen occasionally, and at night. But the thing was, the weird stuff started happening in the daytime as well, and during class. And it all started when my eyes changed color…
