CHAPTER 41

Chapter 1
"Excuse me, Miss." I waited for her reply. "I'm sorry, young man, but I'm in a bit of a hurry." "Can I help?" I asked, as I bent down to help her gather up several folders she had dropped. "Thank you," she smiled, as she took the folder from my hand. She looked at me with her gaze locked on my frail body, then smiled. "I do need some help, but I doubt you're up to the task." That was the day my whole world changed.

Everything in this world exists in two forms; there is the physical, tangible form we know from our day to day interactions, and then there is the shadow, the reflection, the negative of the physical form. Many spend their days meandering through life, never stopping to consider what may occur in the shadows. These people live their lives in blissful ignorance of the secrets the shadows hold. However, for most, this fact is a nonissue, as in reality, knowing the truth can be far more terrifying…

In Part One, Barb caught Kyle masturbating to a lingerie advertisement. Out of embarrassment, he began to rant against girls’ clothing, with the implication that it was so boyish, so unisex, that there was no way he could have been aroused by it. Barb is disturbed by his sexist language and arguments, and has difficulty figuring out how a mother who had once dressed her son in panties and tights could have produced such a male chauvinist. She fears for his life, so reckless has the fourteen-year-old become.

They are out at last but surviving mother nature can be the hardest test of all.
