Heroes For Hire Chp. 12

Printer-friendly version

Peyton wakes up with Jessie sleeping between her legs. She was wondering why her legs were spread open. She looks down under the blankets and spots Jessie’s head resting on her abdomen. She grabs Jessie’s pillow and slides it under her head, as she slides out of bed.
She leaves the blanket covering Jessie.

She wonders when Jessie came into the bedroom. She glances at the clock on the nightstand and notices it was almost noon. She puts her house robe and slippers on before leaving the bedroom.

As she is walking out of her and Jessie’s bedroom, she spots Larkin giving Charlie a piggyback ride.

“You guys look like you’re having fun.” There was a smile on Peyton’s face.

“Larkin’s giving me a piggyback ride.” Charlie had a big ole smile on her face. She was having so much fun with Larkin.

They walk into the kitchen and spot April fixing lunch for everyone. Dr. Greene was in there as well help.

“Mommy, Larkin gave me a piggyback ride.” Charlie runs over to her mother and hugs her.

“I saw sweet pea.” Dr. Greene hugs her daughter back.

Larkin grabs a cold beer out of the refrigerator and pop it open. He takes a swig of it and looks around the kitchen.

“Where’s Month at?” He was surprised the fat slob wasn’t in the kitchen.

“He’s restricted to his room. He came out of his room in his boxers at the same time Charlie was coming out of her bedroom. I didn’t like the way he was looking at Charlie, so I told him he was restricted to his bedroom and that one of us would bring his meals to him. Striker took his breakfast to him and I was going to take his lunch to him. I don’t think its appropriate for him to be around Charlie without one of us near her.”
April didn’t like what she saw on his face.

“I have to agree with April on that matter. The man is a pig.” Stacy comes walking into the kitchen. She felt better now that she got some sleep in.

“If he is a pig, why are we babysitting him then?” Dr. Greene looks at her companions for an answer.

“Because an enhanced human like most of us was sent after him. Normal, law enforcement isn’t equipped to protect him from people like us.” Striker had come walking into the kitchen.

“Striker!” Charlie runs over to him.

“Hey, pipsqueak.” Striker picks Charlie up off the ground and put her on his hip.

Dr. Greene looks at her adopted daughter as Striker held her. She was going to be one spoiled child in this household.

“So, we are protecting him from an enhance human like us?” Stacy looks at Striker as he held Charlie.

“Yes. I have no idea what the person can do or where they are fun. All I do know is this person was engineer liked a few of us.”

Charlie looks at Striker “are they like me?”

“No one is like you, pumpkin.” Striker smiles at Charlie.

“Well, time to feed our guest.” April picks up the tray she had prepared for their guest.

Dr. Greene starts serving everyone their lunch. She wonders where Jessie is.

“Peyton, do you know where Jessie is?” Dr. Greene hasn’t seen her since she has been up.

“She’s in our bed still asleep.”

“Still?” Larkin looks over towards Peyton.

“Yep, she was still asleep when I got out of bed.” Peyton was surprised to find her between her legs.

“How can she still be asleep? She got more sleep then all of us.” Larkin had seen her pass out on their way home.

“She is still a teenager, Larkin. Remember, Jessie got her abilities when she was thirteen. She hasn’t built up the energy reserve we have.”
Jerry knew Jessie’s electrical bolts took a lot out of her.

The next thing all of them witness is the lights in the place going bright and then popping. They hear a loud scream of a little girl and the tray that April had carried come flying down the hallway.

Larkin and Stacy head down the hallway to see what was going on. Striker was right behind them, after setting Charlie down on her feet. Larkin arrives first and he sees Month encircled with vines from the plants in the house.

Jessie was standing before Month with electricity crackling in each hand. She was just wearing a t-shirt.

“Don’t you ever touch my ass or any part of my body, EVER AGAIN!” The energy in her hands got brighter.

April looks at Month “what did I tell you this morning? You’re lucky I came along when I did, or you would be dead right now.”

Larkin and Striker walk up to April. He stood near Jessie “what happened, April?”

“Month thought he would grab Jessie’s ass. I made the plants near him grab him before Jessie could fire him.” April knew all the light bulbs in the house were going to need to be replaced.

Striker was ready to punch him. He was warned about how Month thought of women and what the police had found him doing when they arrested him.

Larkin looks at Month “what did I say to you when you stepped into this house? By alright, April should let Jessie fry your ass. You touch any of the women here and you won’t have a hand anymore.”

“Larkin, take Jessie out of here, please.” Striker could tell Jessie was royally pissed off.

“Come on Sparky. Let’s go and grab something to eat.” Larkin turns Jessie around and escorts her back towards the kitchen.

Stacy takes Month hands and phase him out of the vines and toss his ass into his room. She looks at him “your lucky you are not dead right now.” As she walks out of his room.

Everyone knew how Jessie felt about being touch in a sexual nature or in places they shouldn’t. The team knew she had been exploited and molested by her father and brothers before Striker found her. She hated what they did to her and she hated when people touched her because it reminds her of the abuse.

“Come mere Jessie.” Peyton pulls Jessie to her and holds her.

Peyton rubs her back and tries to claim her down. She knew it would take time for Jessie to let go of the emotions she was feeling. They head back to the kitchen to have lunch.

Once everyone has had lunch or breakfast in some cases. Jerry and Striker get to work replacing all the bulbs in the house, thanks to Jessie’s anger. They knew it wasn’t really her fault. Jessie’s ability was tied to her emotions.

Larkin and Charlie were outside at the obstacle course working out. Larkin was training Charlie to run it. As far as everyone knew, Charlie didn’t have any special ability, so they were building up Charlie’s body.

“How is doing, Larkin?” Dr. Greene came out to check on her daughter.

“She’s doing fine. Charlie still needs work, but we’re not going to push her till she gets older. Striker and I feel she should enjoy being a child.”
Larkin liked having the little pipsqueak around.

“What are we going to do about our guest?” Dr. Greene heard what happened and was concern Month might try something with Charlie.

“Don’t worry about our guest. Jerry is working on something to make him obey. I know if Month doesn’t behave himself, Jessie will electrify him.” Larkin wouldn’t blame her.

“So, how long are we supposed to protect him?” Dr. Greene kept watching Charlie and grin when she spots Charlie figure a way around an obstacle.

“Don’t know, only Striker does. I will say this if he tries to touch Charlie, like he did Jessie. He’ll be needing new arms.” Larkin couldn’t stand pedophiles. He couldn’t figure out why a grown person would want to molest a child.

“You’re not the only one Larkin. I might change his gender and let him see what it is like.” Dr. Greene has never used her knowledge of medicine to harm a person. However, she would do it to save her daughter or make a person who hurt her daughter feel the hurt.
