Rustie’s Place, Wichita, Kansas:
Rustie covers up a yawn as the Uber driver she hired transports her and her gear from their studio. She and the band were finally done with everything that had been scheduled for them. They played two songs on Stephen Colbert's show on Thanksgiving Day and Good Morning
America; they played one of their hit songs and a brand new one from their second album that they haven’t released yet.
The hotel they were staying in cooked up a really nice Thanksgiving dinner for them. Timmy had made the arrangement, since they weren’t going to be going home. Afterwards, they did a private concert for a children’s hospital. Timmy had arranged it, and it was being used to raise funds for the hospital.
They spent some time with the children after the concert and learned that a lot of them were there for diseases that weren’t common for children their age to have. One girl had tumors growing inside her body, making it hard for her to do anything. She had to remain on life support. That had gotten to Rustie a lot.
After meeting the children and the staff. The band decided to donate a large amount of their earnings to the organization that helped children across the US. Rustie had contacted her mother and asked her law firm to handle that arrangement.
“We're here, ma’am.” Henry looks in his rearview mirror towards his passenger.
“Thanks, Henry. Would you mind giving me a hand unloading and carrying everything up to the front door?” Rustie knew Henry didn’t have to do it.
“Not at all.” Henry gets out and helps the young lady.
Rustie follows Henry towards her family's front door. It was early in the morning, so she knew no one would be up right now.
“Thanks, Henry.” Rustie gives Henry two hundred-dollar bills.
Henry glances towards them and smiles, “Thanks, ma’am.”
“Happy Holidays, Henry.” Rustie watches as Henry walks back to his vehicle and drives off.
Rustie takes her keys out and unlocks the front door. She walks into the house and pulls the rest of her stuff into the house before locking the door.
“You’re finally home.” Shirley was walking down the stairs.
Rustie looks over towards her mother, “Sorry for waking you, Mom.”
“You didn’t, sweetie. I’ve been waiting for you to arrive home.” Shirley walks over to Rustie and hugs her. She notices how much her baby has changed.
Rustie returns the hug. She was so happy to be home. After hugging her mother, Rustie heads for her bedroom and prepares to lie down.
Shirley was so happy her daughter was home. She just hopes her son will be able to make it home as well. Shirley turns around and heads back upstairs to her bedroom and crawls into bed next to her husband.
“Did Rustie make it home?” Norman turns to look at his wife.
“Yes, she’s already gone to her bedroom. I told her to leave her stuff downstairs, and we’ll take care of it in the morning.” Shirley kisses her husband and snuggles close to him.
Norman wraps his arm protectively around his wife and listens to her as she falls asleep. In no time, he falls asleep while listening to his wife. He was proud that both of his children had successful careers.
Rustie was glad to be home and sleeping in her own bed again. She strips out of the clothes she had on and puts on her new nightgown she picked up while they were in New Jersey. She did some lingerie shopping at a high-end lingerie shop. The shop had some of the best lingerie and other items a woman could want to wear to make herself feel sexy or to entice her lover or do a little role playing.
Rustie crawls into bed and falls asleep. She was so happy to be home. In no time, she was out and having a wonderful dream.
The next day, Rustie wakes up around noon and stretches. Some of her joints pop as she tries to wake up. She grabs her house robe and slips into her new slippers. She crosses the hallway and does her morning business before heading downstairs.
Both her parents were gone, but she noticed her mother had left a note for her, informing her that they were going out for dinner tonight. The restaurant her parents were going to was one of their favorites. Since Rustie had some time before she had to meet her parents. She fixes herself a cup of coffee and gets a load of laundry going.
She calls the cleaners near them to see if they can do her performing clothes. Some of them were ripe, even after wearing a strong deodorant. Since she doesn’t have a car of her own. Rustie books an Uber again, which happens to be Henry.
“Well, good morning, Ms. Conway. You looked rested and refreshed.” Henry remembered how Ms. Conway looked last night when he dropped her off.
“Thanks, it’s amazing what a good night's sleep will do for you. Can you pop your trunk, please? I don’t think you want to smell my sticky performing clothes.”
Henry just laughs as he reaches down and lifts the trunk release.
Rustie hears the trunk pop open. She lays her performing outfits inside the trunk and shuts it.
“So, I take it we're heading to Zooms to drop your cleaning off.” Henry knew Zooms was one of the best around. It was family-owned.
“Yes. Then, we’ll head to Dominic’s and have some lunch, my treat.” Rustie gets into the car.
“How can I say no to that?” Henry gets in and drives them to the cleaners and to Dominic’s afterwards.
