Katie threw her hands in the air in disgust and sighed.

“Jesus Christ! Come on, Chuck. Stop being such a whiny little priss.”

“I’m not being a priss,” I replied, knowing I sounded exactly like the whiny priss she was accusing me of being. “I’m … taking my time. No need to rush into it, you know?”

Another toss of the hands, this time followed by a super-exaggerated eye roll.

'Mihi nomen est Calpurnia Valeria, sed cum ego natus eram dicitur Sextus, sexta vivum puerum parentes mei, et in tantum puer.' ('My name is Calpurnia Valeria, but when I was born I was called Sextus, the sixth living child of my parents and the only boy.')

I read the neat Latin script on the roll of parchment a second time. No, there was no mistake, it said 'puer' (boy) not 'puella' (girl), and 'Sextus' not 'Sexta'.

Things begin to come together as they fall apart. I might still have a way back to Lee, but there is also the matter of telling Sarah the truth about the wishing stone. Nothing in a new girl's life can ever be simple.

Jen gives me a piece of her mind. The quandary about Penny's love life starts to be too much. And I make the decision to tell someone about the stone.

Lee and I finally get some much needed alone time. Am I ready to experience all that being a girl has to offer? Or will my good time end in disaster?

My second day as Penelope continues. Turns out there are more users of the wishing stone than I knew. Including the one girl I really do not like. Plus, a big event is planned for after school.

My first day of school as Penny comes to a close. Now I have to deal with a bunch of new feelings as well as try to figure out what I'm going to do about my lack of cheerleading skills. Not to mention dealing with my budding relationship with the handsome football player.

My school day as Penelope continues as I find out what the wish did to Cindy and some others. I also discover some disturbing evidence that I might have become more than just a girl on the outside.

No good deed goes unpunished. When I agreed to help my best friend fix her life with the aid of a wishing stone, I knew there might be potential magical ramifications. I just never thought they'd include me trading my lightsaber and gaming dice for ballet shoes and pom-poms.
