City Rat Chp. 7

Anton watches as Tinsley moves around in his kitchen, just wearing one of his t-shirts and a pair of panties. He knew she was trans and hadn’t had the operation yet. He didn’t care, because he was falling head over heels for her.

“How is your investigation going?” Tinsley found out that Anton was a special investigator for a new department created by the DOJ.

“Going nowhere. You remembered that young girl I rescued that day we went sailing?” Anton watches Tinsley as she cooks some homemade hash.

“Yeah, you saved her from being raped by those two men. What’s so special about her?” Tinsley covers the hash and lays some strips of bacon on a cookie sheet covered in wax paper.

“She’s got connections to two well-known crime lords. How she managed to do it, I can only guess, but she can come and go at any of their businesses without any of their people messing with her.”

“That is weird. Which organization is she allowed to do that?” Tinsley was curious.

“I shouldn’t be telling you this, sweetie. So, it doesn’t leave this kitchen.” Anton looks at Tinsley with a serious look on his face.

“Mum’s the word.” Tinsley pretends to lock her mouth and turns an invisible key, and throws the key away.

Anton shakes his head at his girlfriend’s sense of humor. If she wasn’t performing as a drag queen, she was doing standup comedy.

“She can come and go from the Mafia boss of the S.P.Q.R. family, and she has been seen coming and going from the local Yakuza leader.”

“I’ve heard about him. He’s a brutal sob and doesn’t like it when anyone in his group talks.” Tinsley has heard about how brutal the leader of the Yakuza was.

“That’s what I have heard as well. The thing is, how is she capable of doing that?” Anton was puzzled.

“That is a good question. I could ask around at the different clubs and find out.” Tinsley knew there were a few members of the Yakuza that came into the clubs.

Anton looks at Tinsley and had to admit, it was a good idea. She had access to information he wouldn’t be able to get. Plus, she was well-known in the club circuit as well.

“Just be careful, sweetie.” Anton looks at Tinsley to make sure she understood.

“Hey, I’m a very lovable person.” Tinsley smiles sweetly at Anton as she turns and takes the bacon out of the oven

Across Town, First National Bank:
Tonya makes sure she is by herself as she takes out the jewels and gems she stole and puts them in her safe deposit box. She could have left them at her hiding spot, but she felt better moving them. She closes that safe deposit box and exchanges it for another one. She puts the cash she stole in it. She takes out a thousand dollars from the cash already in there and put it in her wallet.

Once she is done doing that, she leaves to go to her favorite flower shop. The place was owned by a couple of gay guys, and she helped them out a few times when they were backed up.

She notices Jeremy was working the counter today. She smiles as she approaches the counter. He was helping an elderly woman. From what she could hear, she was sending flowers to a friend’s grave site.

Tonya just waits and when Jeremy is done helping the old lady. She steps up to the counter and smiles at Jeremy.

Jeremy spots Tonya as she steps up to the counter. He had spotted her coming into the shop but was busy with the little old lady. He looks at her “what brings you in here today?”

“I want to send some flowers to the hospital that the police officer who got hurt is in.” Tonya figures it would be a nice thing to do.

“Do you know what you want?” Jeremy writes the order up.

“No, so I’ll let you have fun designing it.” Tonya puts two twenties and a ten-dollar bill on the counter.

Jeremy shakes his head, as he accepts the money. He looks into Tonya’s eyes “do you want me to put your name on it?”

“Nope, just get well soon.” Tonya never put her name on anything.

“All right. It will go out for delivery this afternoon.”

“Thanks.” Tonya turns and leaves the shop.

There wasn’t much for her to do today, so she was going to enjoy doing some window shopping. She missed living in New York and going to some of her normal hangouts, but she couldn’t do that for a while.

Detective Castle told her that until things cooled down back home, she shouldn’t step foot in New York. Several gangs up there were still mad at her for turning certain members of their gang in and helping the police bust several of their drug-manufacturing labs. It wasn’t like she had much of a choice. Users were dying, and the people responsible for their death needed to be brought to justice.

She spots a Chinese restaurant she hasn’t been to before and walks over to it. There wasn’t much of a crowd, but it had a nice atmosphere about it. A young woman comes over and escorts her to a table.

She leaves a menu with her, after taking her drink order. She looks through the menu to see what they were offering. She spots her favorite, Mongolian Barbecue. She’ll order that when the waitress comes back.

After waiting a while, Tonya gets up and heads toward the bathroom. She hears voices coming from the kitchen and spots several guys she knew were part of the local Yakuza gang. She walks into the kitchen and over to the two men.

“Get out of here and leave these people alone.” Tonya figures these clowns were shaking the restaurant owners down.

One of the men looks at the young girl standing before him. An evil smile appears on his face “this is none of your business, Gwailóu. Leave before you get hurt.”

“I don’t think so, pig face.” Tonya flips a brass coin at the young man.

Wang catches the coin and looks at it. There was his clan symbol on one side and on the other was the symbol of the Yakuza leader. Which meant she was under his protection and you did what she said.

He looks at Tonya and back to the coin and back to her. He couldn’t believe she had this coin “where did you get this?”

“He gave it to me. And if you don’t believe it. Here’s further proof.” Tonya takes her top off and shows the tattoo that covers her whole back with the young maiden and the Dragon protecting her.

Both men look at the tattoo and knew immediately what it meant. The one guy gives the coin back to Tonya and backs out of the kitchen, leaving the owners alone. He was going to report this to his superior.

The owners look at the ordinary girl and couldn’t believe what she did. They wonder who she was.

“Thank you.”

“Think nothing of it. So, how long will my food take?” Tonya was hungry.

“It will be only a few minutes.”

“Okay.” Tonya turns and walks out of the kitchen.

That Tonya interfered with the shake down & he may order Tonya picked up at least untill she shows the tattoo & reports to the local Yakuza leader then the men will be in extremely hot water.
