The Sirens Chapter 16 Ending

Several Weeks Later:

Angel stood looking at the gravestone of her birth mother with D.A. and Angie by her side. She had on a green dress that matched her eyes and white tights. Her shoes matched the color of her dress and she had her hair styled and pulled back into a ponytail. Her fingernails had been painted a light green color and had tiny butterflies painted on them. Angel still wore the Angel necklace that Rachel had put on her the day they had found her.

D.A.’s law firm had tracked down where her mother was buried at and D.A. and Angie had paid for a headstone for her grave.

“Momma, daddy has been brought to justice for what he did to me and you. I hope you don’t mind that I have a new family now. Both my new mothers are kind and loving. They both love me for me and are helping me to become a young lady you will be proud of.” Tears stream down
Angel’s face as she stands there talking to her mother.

Angie and D.A. rest their hands-on Angel’s shoulder.

“Mrs. Stevens, we promise to make you proud of your daughter and protect her so she never has to go through what she has gone through ever again.” Angie places some flowers in a vase on the grave.

D.A. kneels to look at the headstone. She runs her fingers over the inscription she had inscribed on it.

“The Mother of an Angel, now has become an Angel herself to watch over the one she gave life too.”

“I promise to look after your Angel and raise her to be a young lady you will be proud of.” D.A. stands up after placing flowers in another vase on the other side of the headstone.

“Let’s go home, Angel.”

D.A. and Angie both hold Angel’s hand as they walk back to their car to make the long drive back home.
